Silexan - Lavender Oil

Anyone else tried Silexan (It’s made from Lavender). The OTC brand name is called CalmAid…

I find two of the capsules really helps(160mg), one doesn’t do much(80mg). Apparently it’s just as effective as 0.5mg of lorazepam(Ativan). If I am having a hardcore panic attack I use 1mg of Lorazepam but if I am having some generalized anxiety I find 2 of these effective.

Here are some studies…

I forgot to mention, I’ve read some articles on the net about using lavender for sleep but I found that unlike a benzo these do not make me drowsy at all, I have insomnia and I didn’t find these useful for that.

I recently got a new job and I have been a little anxious over it. I took 2 of these before my training yesterday and the day went really well. I had to write 3 pop quizzes based on the information they gave us and I did really well. I was alert and able to function, yet felt grounded without anxiety.

I’m willing to entertain the possibility it’s the placebo effect but based on the studies I’ve read and my personal experience I think they really work.

Just thought I would put this out there for anyone that wants to give these a try, they are not that expensive so if they don’t work its not a big loss. Unlike a benzo, they don’t come with the risk of dependency or withdrawal either.

Yeah, I use lavender too. Seems to have a calming effect, but like you they don’t help me with sleep, although I heard inhaling lavender oil is supposed to be good for sleep.

Yeah, I bought an oil diffuser and lavender oil. I mix it with 500ml of water and let it run all night. I feel like it helps my sleep a little, the smell is really nice. I’ve tried so many herbal sleep remedies, I’ve combined them all at once, they are just not strong enough but my insomnia is really bad,.

For me it’s the clonazepam that has made all the difference when it comes to actually falling to sleep.
