Did you exercise today

Haha sorry @Resilient1

I walked my dog, and in a minute I am walking to an art gallery.

Today I walked for an hour altogether to and from the union warehouse meeting. I did over 8,000 steps.

I read that doing 10000 steps a day wonā€™t make you any fitter because their just steps

Doing 10,000 steps daily for a month in combination with good nutrition will result in better fitness overall. Depending on the person, a task of completing 10,000 steps from Sunday to Saturday requires commitment.

Any ideas on how to keep motivation up after that first gym session? Thatā€™s the prt that stumps me

Record each gym session and the next and the next gym session after that. There should be a gradual improvement in ability that ought to be motivating as a person can compare past results.

Hmm thanks I will do that. Could you recommend anything for recording workouts? I donā€™t like using my phone or a fit bit

I use my smartphone to record my results. A simple note app that come with any Android or iOS smartphone have a ā€œNotesā€ app.

I am trying my best atm after lots of failed attempts, i kind of like the machines so i think about what i want to do, iā€™m trying to build up to a proper routine, right now i am trying to just settle in and do what i can,

Iā€™m also hoping to do a class at some point although i am not ready for it yet it sounds good like something to look forward too. my next goal is to try and break a sweat i guess and shower,

I worry i will lose interest though, the music i listen to helps, i say to myself iā€™ll stop when the song finishes or iā€™ll stop at 5 mins or 10 mins, little goals, some coping techniques and idk what else. iā€™m hoping to get to know some people too but its early days.

I can understand not using a FitBit but a smartphone is so convenient to record gym workouts.

Yes I walked through the grocery store.

No I really didnt exercise today but I should.

I just donā€™t like it in my pocket or holding it while Iā€™m trying to work out. Iā€™m thinking about buying this

Well, my routine is

Sunday - Biceps
Tuesday - Chest
Wednesday - Back
Thursday- Shoulders
Saturday Triceps

I try to do cardio exercise everyday but it depends if I am well rested or if I am motivated to do cardio.

Anaerobic exercise such as lifting weights doesnā€™t make you sweat nor is sweating necessary to have a good workout.

I usually finish my sets of repetitive exercises instead of stopping when the music is finished. My weight lifting for all muscle groups takes less than 20 minutes but the cardio exercise is from 30-60 minutes.

I usually leave my smartphone on the floor where I am sitting or beside me on the floor if I am standing. Picking my smartphone up and putting it down is a nuisance but thatā€™s the cost of recording your workouts.

A Garmin Heart Rate monitor is quite good. Though the smartwatch doesnā€™t assist in recording weight lifting or some cardio exercises. Smartwatches do analyze heightened heart beats.

I just started so just trying to find my feet but so far i have done an induction and 2 sessions, the two sessions were about an hour long each and had cardio and weight machines included a short stint on the rowing machine (which i find extremely difficult)

About the sweating thing, i want to sweat bc i believe i have a lot of toxins in my body that i would like to release through my pores.

My gym has these stick things that i plug in to the machine and it records my workout, I use my phone when out and about to record my steps which averages about 6000 a day.
