I haven’t lost weight since the 21st. I hope it starts coming off again. I’m getting impatient. I’m doing high intensity interval training 5 days a week, weights 3 times a week, and I’m eating 1200 calories per day. I measure every morsel of food that goes in my mouth. I even track the calories from my supplements.
Who does the grocery shopping? You?
When I grocery shop I don’t buy junk food, so there’s never any temptation to pig out.
I keep frosted shredded wheat and Raisin Bran for when I get a sweet tooth.
I was seeing a dietitian for about a year. She said that weight plateaus happen. So just keep doing what you’re doing and eventually you’ll start to lose weight again.
I do the grocery shopping and I’m not buying any junk food at all
Ok. I hope it doesn’t last long.
Wow. That is a lot of self-discipline, i admire you. I also think you will lose weight again…
Thanks @anon42728068. I just can’t stand being obese anymore. I don’t like to see myself in the mirror so I’m doing a lot about it so that can change.
Good you are maling healthy choices. I did read 1200 calories are maybe too little, because it leads to your metabolism adjusting itself, thus a stop of weight loss. I am very ignorant in this, but that could be the issue? Do you have a good dietician?
I lost 15lb in one month, I am not really losing more.
My primary dr ok’d it. I can’t afford a nutritionist.
I need to exercise to lose more but on my current meds I can’t, waiting on Vraylar.
I understand…i wouldnt have money for it either. Hope you get healthy and come to a good weight. You are working hard on it. Wouldnt be TOO hard on yourself though, do see your beautiful sides too.
Thanks @anon42728068. I figure the plateau can’t last forever. My sister, who used to struggle with her weight terribly, suggested I add more healthy fats in my diet. I’m going to give it a try.
Try upping your calories to 1300-1400. It could also be that you’re gaining muscle. I would measure your waist etc.
Yeah. I can take measurements, but I never took a measurement of my waist when I started the diet. However, I can measure it now and watch for improvement
It is so disconcerting to reach a weight plateau after trying so hard to lose weight. I was the same on a 1200 calorie diet and exercise, although I wasn’t obese to start with, however, I tried the keto diet for 24 days where I lost a lot in 2 weeks and then at a slower pace for the remainder.
Having finished the keto diet I kept to 1500 calories and put on 1.5kg straight away. I believe it has something to do with glycogen stores.
I am sticking with 1500 calorie and have started t o lose weight again. I think the metabloism was reset and can lose weight again, normally. Perhaps 2 weeks keto could help to reset metabolism again.
Yeah, @LilyoftheValley, that is neat that you’ve lost weight. I’m down 70 pounds from 4.5 years ago.
For me, as I started to look better I started feeling better. Like: feeling a lot better.
Anyways, keep up the good work.
This is normal, don’t sweat it. I’ve been plateaued since the 17th. I just have to keep hitting my calorie and exercise targets and it’ll start moving again. In the meantime I’m feeling healthier and moving better so it’s still a win.
Have faith!
Thanks @anon99082702!
Yeah. It just sucks getting on the scale and not seeing a change. But I’m going to keep at it.
