Very slow progress-weight

In the morning I take tea with about 2-3 cubes of sugar with cooked beans!in the afternoon I take either cabbage with other vegetables like carrots n onions! I either boil it or eat it fresh! The secret is the vegetables will occupy a larger portion of ur stomach n fill it up,u will feel satisfied n not have the urge to eat again!u can either take cabbage or lettuce joint it with fried or roasted fish!at night I may eat vegetables or fish with about 2-3 boiled eggs!but I only eat the white part(albumin) not the yolk because it contains a lot of cholesterol !i also drink a little milk or take some fruits! Its tough to stick to a strict diet but once u get use to it,it becomes a habit! One thing about dieting is u can regulate the type of food u eat n the quantity when u eat every day but with exercise consistency may be difficult! U may plan to go jogging a particular day but something comes up n u have to change plans or u don’t feel like going that day. When it comes to eating that’s a different story

thanks. i used to eat similar to you and i lost like 25kg (i believe from 115kg to 90kg) but in a much longer period like 6 months. also i used to go jogging(40mins) and after that walking(20mins, to cool ones pulse after running) everyday for an hour in total. also i used to lift weights like every 3rd or 2nd day (cant remember) in order to keep my muscles and i had a good physique by the end of it but ofcourse as one would expect then suddenly the schizophrenia kicked in and ruined my life.

@phoenix71767 Your weight lose seems to have been around 2kgs or more a week . Whilst seemingly commendable isn’t there a link between too rapid weight loss and piling the weight back on and maybe a bit more?
For sustained weight loss surely losing 0.5-1kg a week would in the long term be more effective.

Yes! Your right,my parents keep telling me I need to take it slow n easy! But I’m doing my best to stick to my diet. thanks!

That is more likely to result in the weight staying off. 0.5-1 kg loss a week is the ideal.

thanks but i dont think i will ever pick up the jogging again now that i gained 35kg ( i weigh 125kg now) thanks to the schizophrenia and anti psychotic medication. its just too hard to start from nothing once again and i dont feel like doing it all over again. i dont even want to or have the dedication to diet again - at all. it all went downhill not just emotionally and rationally but physically aswell.

I’m sorry u feel that way!just try your best to cope with this bloody illness we all have, always remember that there are people in worse conditions than you!some are paralysed others blind or have cancer! Yes this illness is terrible n not a day goes but without us thinking we wish we never existed but we just have to hang on for a while! I really wish you feel better soon n get your weight problem under control also!good luck

atleast the people with cancer, paralyzed or blind dont have their reality get crushed and replaced with another one for no reason. atleast they dont have to go through this passivity hell where you cant do anything but only wait for things to get better. but thanks i appreciate your positive and motivating responses.

Yeah ur right! Those are the only positive things I try to think of when ever I feel pessimistic! But I still feel hopeless about a future!i’m in bed virtually all day, I can’t pick myself up to do anything other than maintain my diet, take a bath n pray! Same routine every day!the worst part is other people think your not trying hard enough or you can just snap ur fingers n get better

Think I’m going to pull out of the weekly weigh in I’ve been taking part in as my weight is being artificially inflated by poor sleep and possibly other things though poor sleep seems to be the constant factor . Went up again this morning. It’s not even though I am eating more. In fact I’ve eat slightly less to try and compensate . Logically my weight should be going down based on the food eaten.

One time I lost a bunch of weight on a really hard rode trip, and I have no idea how I did it. I wasn’t on the road long enough to have anything like the calorie deficit I would need to lose that much body fat, and I didn’t sweat much at all. The only way I can think of is that I exhaled a lot of body moisture as I breathed.

After a bad week of sleep weight is 235.8 up 4lbs since last Sunday. Hoping sleep mask comes today(It was supposed to yesterday). Step mum recommended it as a way to avoid waking as soon as it gets light. Which is a pain if you have taken hours to get off. Am hoping decent sleep will see the weight go down again and I can get back on track.
It’s frustrating to be making a conscious effort to eat less when lack of sleep is helping to push the weight up.
