The controversy of Stephen King?

Is Stephen King a good writer or a lousy writer?

I personally think some of his writing is good even great and some is bad. I’m of mixed opinion. His books are the only ones I’d buy sold in a grocery store or pharmacy.

I agree.

He’s a mixed bag.

Some of it is genius,

Some of it is trash.

I like his early drug fueled phase and his religious phase.

The rest can go in a trash can.

No one is perfect.

I think his writing has some very creepy fantasies hidden in them.

I don’t like horror in general so I don’t know how much of that is as dark as its trying to be as a tone setting and par for the genre or if its genuine really creepy writer fascination.

I like his work. If you don’t, put the book down and go find another one.

I really like his “IT” and “The Mist”

Stephen King put images in my mind that I can’t erase…still can’t stand to have the bathroom shower curtain pulled across at night…haha…he haunts me, but i love him…the Shining is one of the scariest books I’ve ever read.

I´m a big fan of “The Dark Tower” books, but I guess it´s not like anything else he writes. I haven´t read anything else by him.

Big fan. For my 13th birthday, my uncle gave me the entire collection.

Its grown quite a bit since, I wish I had read all the ones after Delores Claiborne

I have two books of King that I adore the most…less horror, more drama…

“the girl who loved tom gordon”…and “the talisman”.

I really liked his movie “The Storm of the Century”. You could say it is the exact opposite of the Passion of the Christ - Andre Linoge came into the world to condemn the world so that he might have a son.

ooh I saw the storm of the century…I was early in recovery…that’s an old movie.

Yes it is an older movie. I don’t keep track of what is currently showing. If you haven’t seen it you might give it a chance to ring a bell with you.

I’ve read all of Stephen King’s books…some are better than others, true, but he’s the only author that I’ll pay full price for when a new book comes out. Well, some Dean Koontz, too…

I agree with you on this one, it’s unlike his other work. The first book of the series, The Gunslinger is maybe the best book I’ve ever read by King. Other than that, the first chapter or two are usually good, but then he loses my interest

I remember watching some stephen king movie and there was sexy fembots in it? Or am i just crazy

Stephen King is notorious for banging out his novels super fast compared to other acclaimed authors. I think this results in not all of them being grade A, but most are still good.

I actually prefer dean koontz. I used to like king but I lost all respect for him when he started wanting his movies redone.

I’ve not read any of his books.I have hardly read any fiction since working out my inability to imagine characters and scenes isn’t the norm.
