Woke up figuratively drunk on the success of yesterdays meeting with my new clinician who gave me a mental test on which I scored a perfect 30.
Shampooed and showered.
Dared get a little jealous of my housemate.
Gave the provider’s granddaughter her birthday present. I think she liked it.
Read some Anne Lamott.
Did some word search.
Called my sister
Called a friend and got a good suggestion about overcoming my fear of driving. She said focus good feelings about arriving at your destination.
Joined in socially at the birthday cake party.
Noted that my head sweats a lot but accepted it.
I guess you had a good sleep last night. That’s a blessing. Also I guess the weather is getting cooler in your city. So you must have had more positives in your life today. Just count it and you will be happier and look more beautiful. @shellys12
In some cultures, a sweaty head is looked upon as a sign of that persons integrity and humility and everybody dances around the person like they are a God.
Well, if that’s true, I doubt my head would ever sweat when surrounded by a bunch of loud, out of control kids. Don’t test me on it. I definitely have a breaking point.
I love Anne Lamott, but I had forgotten all about her! I just went to look her up and see what she’s written since the last time I read her, around 2012. It looks like a few things. I think I’ll go to the library tomorrow and see what they’ve got. Thanks for the inspiration!
@anon1517417, I’m reading “Small Victories” which was written in 2015. Some of it is repeating what she already wrote but it is still well worth reading.
