I think what the atheists want is double standards and a catch 22 system. You’re not allowed to say for instance praying helps a great deal, but if you want to say tinfoil hats help that is ok.
Man I’m atheist and I think tin foil hats are stupid. I even think prayer can be helpful even if you don’t believe for totally atheist reasons.
Don’t group us all together.
Did I mention this forum is free also. Its free and it is giving alot of freedom.
That is why I am saying it is a double standard to ban religious strange beliefs but not atheist ones. In the end you would have to ban all strange beliefs.
This place isn’t even worth fighting for anymore.
I don’t think Daimon Is anti meds I think he’s on meds.
I think what he promotes has to do with people getting healthy and feeling better because of that.
Im not anti meds either ill prolly get some myself pretty soon but I think when someone hasn’t been diagnosed by a psychiatrist and is asking about taking medication its good advice to suggest they try other avenues first.
Any drug can be addictive and if you don’t need it then you don’t need the addiction.
I’ve seen some people suggest to get on strong meds NOW to people that aren’t diagnosed and I believe that should be criminal.
Let it be man. We have schizophrenia the last thing they should is restrict our speech. Represent your perspective when you can. Keep it alive.
Yeah dude I’m on meds and I advocate meds. I did say Anna was a super star today because she manages to function without medication, but that is an impressive feat now isn’t it? But I can see how people could take that the wrong way. But man if I could function as well as she does without meds I would consider going off them.
I think its letting whatever relieves a person or helps be. For some its medication, for some its diet, for some its phsycollogy, for some its religion, for some its teachings. As long as they are helping the person and keeping the person hopefull, then let them share. But people should realize whats giving them hope or helping them take care of life and its responsabilitys, may not offer the same for another person.
Is the force still with us?

While I agree. I think where things go off the rails is when a poster says his/her treatment/ameliorant/belief is the only or best solution or best for everyone. Or when they speak of ‘cures’.
Outside of quoting clinical trials or scientific studies (and this includes studies of faith-based or alternative approaches) all you can say is a particular approach appears to work for me if you’ve actually tried/lived it.
We don’t have anyone here pushing atheistic belief systems thought. People aren’t saying “Atheism is going to cure your schizophrenia”. We do have those posters coming from the religious communities - and they cause people a lot of stress and arguments.
There are people who are very atheistic minded though who would advocate tinfoiil hats to block out the voices though. Those people have more of a backing on the internet than the people with weird spiritual beliefs.
Oh Malvok - please don’t go all negative just because a few people have posted too many superstition posts recently. We get between 300 and 600 postings every day - and 5 to 15 new users ever day - and things continue to increase every month. Things can’t be that bad.
Tomorrow night for instance there is going to be a conference call of at least a hundred people who believe they can block out the voices by making weird contraptions with rubber tires. They are backed by a non profit organization with people who make a living off selling people false hope in “shielding” and their agenda. If you people want to make an impact, I would work on expelling these kind of beliefs too and not just the strange spiritual ones.
100 people in one call. That’s sounds really impractical.
They can control who talks and who just listens. They won’t let me talk for long!
Haha you gonna dis on them and what they’re doing?
From their perspective I am a villain just like according to some of the people here I am as well.
