Quitting vaping today. Wish me luck

Vaping super helped me get off cigarettes,

But now it’s been three years and I’ve been leaning heavy on my vape.

It’s time to cut it out before it causes some kind of damage.

I have very little vape juice left and am going to Costco for nicotine lozenges today.

I really hope I’m able to get off this vape.

Didn’t think I could do it until we went camping for four days and I couldn’t vape in front of this kid we were with.

I didn’t think about it too much, and basically only took a couple hits off of it in the mornings and evenings.

Maybe I’m less hooked than I think.

Guess we’ll see.

Wish me luck.

I’d be interested to see how you get on. I’d like to quit vaping too.

You’ll probably get a bit cranky/irritable for a while though.

I’ll keep you posted.

I expect to have some trouble making the switch to the lozenges,

Hopefully it won’t be too bad.

You can do it Rexy!

Staying off the cigs is the hardest step, so you’re already halfway there.

Whether its gum, lozenges, patch, cigs, vape or anything else, they all give you your nicotine fix, but when you stop any of them your craving for nicotine comes back, and that means your going to have to deal with withdrawal, cold turkey is essentially the only way to quit. The only other alternative are drugs like chantix but I never tried that because it wasn’t available when I first tried quitting and it was relatively new when I finally quit, I had never heard of it and my doctor never mentioned it.

I quit cold turkey but it took me several attempts over a period of about a decade. I finally did it when I turned 30. I tried the patch, and it did get rid of the cravings, but when you take off the patch the nicotine cravings come back. Instead of getting your nicotine from a cigarette your getting it from the patch, unfortunately I found that in the end you just gotta quit cold turkey and suffer through the withdrawals. The first month is the hardest, but it does get much easier as time passes.

I quit 13 years ago. I don’t even think about smoking anymore. And I live with 2 heavy smokers.

So the lozenges are weird.

You’re not supposed to suck them like candy.

Just kind of move them around in your mouth, between your teeth and cheeks, until it dissolves.

I don’t like it.

It’s like, it’s got a strange texture too.

Seriously starting to consider going cold turkey.

These things may be more trouble than they are worth.

I don’t know, we’ll see how bad the cravings are.
