Post today's workout

Today is Chest, and some shoulders.

Floor push ups two sets x 10 reps

Incline bench press (15kgs x 8 reps) x 2 (taking it easy due to the lay off)

Floor Chest flyes (13kgs x 6) x 2

Shoulder press
20kgs x 9,
30kgs x 3-5 (x2)

Tricep Rope Pull downs
20kgs x 16
30kgs x 10
35kgs x 3

My lifts have stagnated so much. I’ve made 0 progress due to hospital 3 times since June 2023. Back then I could do two full push ups at 110kg, which is defo more than a 40kg db bench each side. Heck I think I even did 5 push ups at one point.

By November I will switch from push ups back to benching, to see where I’m at. I’m hoping for at least a 32kgs db (each side) bench press for a 3rm.

Mmm, a push-up doesn’t lift your whole body weight. Think of a lever. Your center of mass is located somewhere near the belly button, whereas your applied force via the arms is below the shoulders, thus the torque is bigger because the distance relative to your feet (pivot) is greater. So it is much easier to do push-ups while weighing 110 kg than it is to bench-press 110 kg.

Yeah I agree. I read somewhere it’s maybe 70 percent of body weight.

That’s why I could have benched 70-80kgs approx back then and not 110kgs with 55kgs db’s.

I just do my isometrics for upper body strength and seeing vast improvement in my tone of my arms and chest since then…

Nice!

I need research isometrics again. I think they come in handy with plateaus too.

I’ll start today a 5/3/1 protocol

Deadlift 5x62.5kg 5x70kg 5x80kg
5sets 5x62.5kg
Overhead press 5x40kg 5x45kg 5x50
5sets 40kg
Incline dumbbell bench 5x10 15kg
Pull ups until failure x lat pulldown 50 reps
Cable crunches 5x10

It will be brutal. 31 sets! Starting somewhat low weight to test if I can handle the volume

Sounds intense! 31 sets too. You must have a lot of energy.

I’ll probably spend 1.5 hours doing mine. I space out my sets. And go on my phone/daydream lol.

What kind of cardio were you thinking?

31 sets in under 2 hours is tough. You’re a beast for sure. :mechanical_arm:

I do jogging on a treadmill. It’s an habit I picked up from doing martial arts.

Yo, I only did deadlift for legs, but I did 45 reps total… my calves never get sore but today they did lol

Muay Thai is such a cool martial art. I wanna get back into boxing next year. Something about aggression and fighting just feels so good as a man. I think all men crave fighting deep down.

And then there’s the learning of forms and discipline that comes with it.

Also Idk if King does Muay Thai in Tekken, but I know there’s a character that does it.

i think youre right. not neccisarily eachother like other human beings but also animals. like now with the invention of guns and things we foget about this, but back in the day we had to defend civilization from animals and ■■■■. Not to mention hunt dangerous animals, like moose, bears etc for food.

Also to protect against evil people… gangs of bandits and such. man is made to be in some aspects a warrior. Even if its not 100 necessary these days with technology, i dont think we can be truly happy without some level of fitness.

I did 5km of the Can-can with 1kg weights on my ankles. (Lol) 2x 2.5 km breaks a sweat and gets my heart rate up.

And 50 sit ups.

Waiting for my arm to heal to do press ups and yoga.

Man, I would love to get back into a workout routine. I used to workout hard in high school for American football. I’ve barely lifted a weight since then…thanks sz!

I respect and encourage anyone who works out. Especially those with this illness. It’s not easy

Do you do some kind of exercise?

Other than walking my dog most mornings, no, not really anymore. I pace most of the day inside the house, too. But as far as working out or exercising, I can’t muster up the motivation for it. I’ll workout for a week, then quit.
