Hi, long time no see.

I have been working out the last couple of months 5 days a week and weekends are rest days.

I have put on over 1kg of muscle according to my scales. They are bio impedence and have a holding bvar for the hands so they measure your whole body rather than just up and down the legs.

I start the day with press ups and have reached 80 in one go atm. I aim to get to 100 and have slowly built up to this level over the months. Then I started jump rope a couple of weeks ago.

Jump rope as a complete beginner really, really hurts the arches in the feet and calves, but I broke my record today doing 94 skips in a row. I work at this for 10 minutes and am hoping to immprove this for my cardio.

In the afternoon, I do 30 minutes of yoga which is with the down dog app that is paid for but worth it as you can get a different routine every day and manage the levels brilliantly with it. I use it on the phone and cast to my tv so I can follow every move.

I am upto 100 squats in a row now and then do a few routines with the 5kg dumb bells that include slow bicep curls, lifts over the head, a star position lifts and underarm curls.

I really work up a sweat doing this stuff but the muscle gains is seeming to be working.

I am 52 and not past it (yet) lol.

This exercise really lifts my mood and I notice it at the weekends when i don’t work out and do the necessary muscle rest (so I don’t get injured) that my mood is low.

I am going to graduate to 10kg dumb bells soon so i can keep gaining, but so far it hasn’t been necessary.

Exercise really works guys and gals abnd I use a psychiatric process called ‘automatic thinking’ where you just treat yourself like a robot and don’t think about the options, consequences or possible scearios and just get on and do it. It really works for me!

Anyway, I hope you guys are doing well and doing the necessary fitness regimes and gain from it like i am doing?

You still with a gym membership? Been a while since I was here.

no gym membership. I injured my back at the gym 3 months ago. From now on not gonna do heavy lifts just calisthenics (pushups, sit-ups etc.) and cardio. Hbu?

Sorry to hear about the back thing.
I’m not lifting atm, but very into boxing.

I also have had back problems in general, and have injured my back at the gym as well.

Good to hear that you have the motivation to move your body after the injury. Keep on “movin”

Been getting at least 5,000 steps per day and yoga at least once a week. My life is focused on getting the damn trailer on the road for a camping trip this weekend. It’s the final sprint for me, as it were. I’m using my arms a lot to scrape old caulking out, clean, saw, hammer, etc. They are continually feeling burned out on me.

Trying to stay active to lose weight. It’s really amazing how quickly you can make progress the first week or so getting back into things. Really happy seeing my body transform. I can’t wait until I can run again.

Finally felt some exhaustion doing cardio today. Gonna rest up. At some point after wanna get in some 35 pound plate squats (hold the plate in front of you and squat) that fixed my squat form like nothing else. It’s the deepest squat I could get.

You just reminded me I have a plate weight at my mom’s house I left when I moved out a few years ago. I should go get it lol

I went to the gym and I did a mile on the treadmill, then 20 minutes on the recumbent bike, then walked another mile home from the gym in 108 degree heat.
