Which AP would you rather be on and why?

Zyprexa controls my voices better than risperidone. Simple and easy. Side effects on both have to be watched and combatted.

If you want your libido back get Zyprexa. Otherwise Risperdal causes less weight gain, better for diabetes and liver, my liver enzymes were higher on Zyprexa, my Dr took me off it. I was eating much more on Zyprexa.

I like zyprexa/olanzapine a lot. I did gain some 25 kg within a year, but other than that its great. I don’t find it very sedating. Managed to lose all the extra weight plus some more in the last two years, actually on my lowest weight since even before sz and meds. I started on 25mg three years ago, now on 20mg. After my first episode I started on risperidone, not sure how much, and became very lethargic. But this was called postpsychotic depression and to be fair, it did clear up while still on risperidone. Gained a kilo or five on it I think. Also sexual side effects on that one.

Now, I gained weight on Risperdal, not Zyprexa.

I voted Risperdal, but the injectable. I cannot take oral risperdal, too much side effects.
Zyprexa made me fat and I got metabolic syndrome.

I didn’t like either, but Zyprexa had fewer side effects for me.

I didn’t gain any weight on Zyprexa but I was only on it for about a month at 7.5mg.

I didn’t vote because I haven’t been on Zyprexa long enough to judge.
Risperdal is effective but the sexual side effects are too much.
Risperdal did not agree with me for some reason, but I didn’t really give it much of a chance. I felt worse after the first few doses and stopped it.
Olanzapine made me put on 35 kilos in two years, and I was a zombie. The MH people left me to it on 20mg and never changed the dose from when I was in hospital

@flybottle: a bit off-topic but i was wondering about your post psychotic depression. were you bedridden during ppd? how long did it last? how would you describe it?
reading your post i did some research on ppd. pretty sure i experienced it some 20 years ago.

Yeah but can’t be as bad as it is on Risperdal.
Not entirely bedridden, i was gently forced to do work 2 days a week. But classic poverty of speech and anhedonia. My friends took me to my favourite artist and I left after 10 minutes cause i did not see the point. I quit football for the same reason. Things turned for the better when my parents squuezed out of me a university lecture i had agreed to give while psychotic. After the first lecture went alright things turned for the better. By then i had been in this state for about 5 months.

Yeah true risperdone sexual stories that are similar to mine are actually a nightmare compare to the Amount that happened to me

Zero erections on risperidone and retrograde ejaculations.
No semen comes out.
