One meal a day

I didn’t know I could be comfortable doing this. I have eaten twice a day for many years.

But the other day I couldn’t eat dinner, and I wasn’t hungry when I arrived home.

Since then I’m trying the one meal a day thing (OMAD) and it’s working well so far. Still, my body and hormones need to adapt, but it’s going great so far!

You need 60g of protein a day, and the RDA for vitamins and minerals, maybe take a multivitamin like I do. I eat twice a day, one big meal and a small one.

My last doc told me that I should eat 3 meals a day because they base the blood sugar/medication adjustments on 3 meals a day.

I don’t always listen to that though. If Im at a reading of 250 or something, I may skip a meal and wait for it to come down.

I have Huel protein shake for breakfast, A purition shake for lunch, a field doctor healthy 500 or so calorie meal for dinner and a can of tinned fruit. I snack on fruit during the day too.

My field doctor meal was ‘Goan fish curry’ which was delicious. All gluten free & low in salt too.

It works out at under 1500 calories a day.

I was 71.10 kg this morning. A BMI of 25.2!

The only way I can maintain my weight is to eat as little as this.

Occasionally I treat myself to plain popcorn as well.

It counts as A snack if it’s the size of several regular ones. It’s just a big snack. Lol

I love popcorn, too! I use a silicone microwave air popper and then spray a little butter-flavored cooking spray on it with a dash of salt.

I eat 2-3 meals a day with probably too many snacks in between. I am working on curbing the snacking.

I eat two meals a day. And snack in late afternoon and evening around dinner. If I stay home more than usual end up snacking more.

It feels really bad eating something after dinner. “Why did I eat that thing?!”

Intermittent fasting helps with a diet. Having enough protein to keep you feeling full really does too especially if your male.

From what I understand 2 meals a day is still optimal. Eat within an 8 hour window or so but research and don’t sell yourself short. Look at what your eating and what you need to maintain or lose or whatever.

It’s important to furnish energy for the body. It’s dangerous if your not as it leads to problems down the line for sure.

@rogueone one meal a day works aswell as two, but you need to transition…

It’s universal knowledge and people been doing it since the beginning of time. What works for me best is to set aside one hour a day, and then use that hour, where I will be feeding and nourishing my systems.

Carnivore/Keto :meat_on_bone: framework works best for me. Nutrient dense, satiating foods, what’s not to like about it.

Agreed 100%. Hunt, eat once and walk all day.

I have done omad before. I was going to do it again, I saw a nutritionist today and she told me to do two meals a day. So I’m gonna do that with 16::8 intermittent fasting

That’s a good one. I still need to eat less because I was maintaining weight on 2 meals.
