So my six year old is working on trying cheeses from different parts of the world. We were wondering what would be good ones for her to try. To get angry parents off my back, she doesn’t like milk so I give her other dairy products and she isn’t eating huge slabs everyday. She doesn’t like blue cheese but she will try anything. Suggestions?
Smoked Gouda is my favorite. And have you ever tried baked Brie? My friend makes it. She cuts a wheel in half, smears each inside with jam and chopped nuts, then puts it back together and bakes it until it’s melts. You can dip crackers in it.
And I hear you about kids. Mine won’t eat any of the meat products I give her, and I don’t know how to cook meat because I’ve been allergic to it pretty much since I started living on my own. She will eat tofu and veggie burgers, so that’s what I give her. I figure that’s protein. She eats eggs and yogurt and milk, so she’s still getting animal fats, but I do worry I’m setting her up for a lifetime of indigestion if she ever does decide to eat meat in the future.
Monterey Jack is a fan favorite at my place.
I also like feta.
My daughter loves smoked Gouda!
I love cheese!
My favorites are Swiss, Feta, Blue Cheese, and Gouda!
Camembert (sp?) is another one that’s really good on apples.
Just go with the flow. I am a supporter of vegans and vegetarians. Just throw all kinds of food at them so they get familiar with different foods. As they grow older they will discover what they like or dislike. My kids love sushi and frog legs. You never know what they will grow to like.
Yeah. She’s great at trying everything. She’s very curious. She just spits it out if she doesn’t want it. Or throws it on the floor for my dog. He’s gotten so fat.
They are probably his best friends. Throw some Kimchi your dogs way.
Don’t forget goat cheese
Colby jack is probably my favorite, that or swiss.
I love goat cheese. I have three tubs of it in my fridge now.
Haha ! I like it too.
There are also baby bells in a few different kinds. My daughter didn’t like any other cheese for years.
oh the wine and cheese parties we used to throw back when we were married…it was delicious…I learned I really enjoyed plain bleu cheese on triscuits…and don’t forget the habenero jack…delicious !! oh please let me buy some cheese !! haha
I have to post this. Apologies
Okay. I don’t actually think it’s literally cheese.
