L- theanine focus

I’ve been taking L theanine for about 2 weeks and I’m noticing that I’m a little more focused and more solid. Did this happen to you guys when taking this supplement?

I feel like I’m on ADHD meds lol

I took it for 3 days, but didn’t feel a thing. I stopped taking it.

That’s crazy man… I feel like my anxiety is down and I feel a little more solid. Not as scattered like usually.

I also take gabapentin too and I think they both effect gaba levels in your brain :brain::thinking: maybe that’s why it has such a strong effect on me.

Now that I think about it I took 400mg the day I was supposed to have another panic attack at therapy but I was calm as hell lol

I wish I could get the ADD medication effect you are getting.

Same.

I only notice it when I take it with caffeine. Makes me feel less jittery.

If I take it by itself I don’t really see any effect.

I can’t take theanine because I read it interacts with risperidone. I cant drink tea either, which I miss.

I did try theanine before risperidone and I liked it.

Calms the nerves, increases gabba waves.

I miss tea a lot

I’m a big fan of L-theanine. I wouldn’t be able to tolerate Abilify without it.

i was taking 200mg of L-Theanine a day for like 7 months straight. It helped with calm focus. Hopefully you are responding to it in a good way. I had to stop all my supplements 2 months ago because my blood labs were off and the doctors were trying to pinpoint if it was medication or some of the 50 supplements a day I was taking.

How many milligrams do you take a day? I have a bottle of 200’s. Just took one. I’m thinking I’ll take one a day like the bottle says. I’m also gonna start taking magnesium.

I take 200-300 mg in the morning. Sometimes I take 100mg in the afternoon. I did see a post about magnesium. I might try that too but that broccoli extract seems like it might be a good option. I’m gonna see how this the l theanine works first before adding another supplement. Do t want to loose track or over do it man :grin:

i couldnt check interactions of it with invega. im taking it with invega. how does it interact with risperidone?

I take L - Theanine in the powdered form. I got it from Amazon. I take a spoonful every night in some tea and it calms down any jittery nervous energy I have at night. The spoonful is around 1000mg. I have had no side effects from it at all.

It gives me heart problems with risperidone, like chronic heartburn. Before risperidone I had tea everyday but now I just have coffee.

I’m happy with coffee anyway. I’m used to avoiding tea
