Interesting. One theory of mine is that l-theanine or other neurotransmitter boosters kind of depletes neurotransmitters like GABA, serotonin and dopamine if you take more than the brain is able to process. This would typically happen if you ingest high doses, or never cycle the supplement. It’s supposed to raise those neurotransmitters, but if you overdo it you might get a paradoxal effect.
I’m getting on fine without it, but I just feel “ok” not as good as when I made the original post above. That day of feeling great was a one off and I got suckered Thanks for asking @Leaf .
Yeah! I think it must have been some rebound reaction to quitting L-theanine. Like the way some people feel better for a while after quitting their AP.
Not really. The reason I quit was I had a pain in my right side (probably liver). I was taking 750mg /day for years and I think it finally caught up with me.
