Before my keto diet I loved to eat apple slices spread with peanut butter. YumYum! I miss that snack.

Do you do keto and for how long has it been? Do you find it helpful.

Eating an apple a day keeps the dr away so i imagine eating 3 keeps the landlord away

I have been on this diet for 6 years, since back before Dr Palmer wrote his Brain Energy book. I went on the diet to control my blood sugar and lose weight. Because it is such a difficult diet to manage long term I cheat on it sometimes and get knocked out of ketosis. When that happens my symptoms come back sometimes within 6 to 12 hours and last a week or two. I think this diet works a lot like medicine. It makes about 80% of my symptoms go away on good days but I still have bad days on it. It has not put this illness into remission or cured it like some people have suggested on youtube channels. At least not for me.

The bottom line is that the diet works but is almost impossible to maintain long term perfectly.

Okay that’s cool it works for you.

I’m glad to hear that.

What are your main kind of foods you eat?

I just started a plant based diet myself.

I’m feeling a little better but my energy and concentration issue hasn’t gone away at least not yet.

I eat meat, fish, eggs, dairy, and lots of vegetables and a small amount of fruit and nuts and seeds.

No. Apples are negative calories, because it takes more calories to digest them, than what they have.

I have fatty liver and was eating 7 servings of fruit a day but learned it can be bad for the liver. This is what I learned from googling fruit bad for liver.

Yes, eating too much fruit can be bad for your liver because fruit contains fructose, a sugar that can be toxic to the liver in large amounts. When the liver is exposed to too much fructose, it uses it to create fat, a process called lipogenesis. This can lead to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), which can cause inflammation and liver damage. NAFLD can progress to more serious conditions like cirrhosis, liver cancer, and liver failure.

The USDA recommends that adults eat 1.5 to 2.5 cups of fruit per day, but the ideal amount varies by person. Factors that can affect how much fruit is right for you include your age, sex, weight, height, physical activity, and health conditions.

Dark berries like blueberries, raspberries, and cranberries contain antioxidants called polyphenols that may help protect the liver.

Yes that’s good information thankyou.

I think that 3 large apples is about 3 to 4 cups of fruit… Dam… These ppl have strict rules.

But the thing is it makes me feel better and I don’t eat sweets at all which contain much more fructose.

Plus it would be after my daily exercise that I would eat that 3 apples. When I require sugar I guess.

Do you reckon it’s still bad for me, @Dude1

If you are cutting out sugar then eating the right amount of fruit might be a little healthier for the liver then sugar. I keep focusing on the liver because my liver is severe stage 3 non alcoholic fatty liver diagnosis. Sugar is said to be hard on the liver like alcohol. But if your liver is fine it is a different situation than mine. I also cut out sugar and only ate fruit and it was better for my diabetes. My blood sugar tested much lower eating fruit and no sugar then sugar and no fruit. But if you dont have diabetes or liver issues then your situation is different then mine.

The organ uses one type of sugar, called fructose, to make fat. Too much refined sugar and high-fructose corn syrup causes a fatty buildup that can lead to liver disease . Some studies show that sugar can be as damaging to the liver as alcohol, even if you’re not overweight.

I’m still learning so I’m just gonna say four stages. They said mine is just mostly fat accumulation and may have a little scarring. But with restricted intake of carbohydrates and sugar and fat the doctor said the liver can get rid of the excess fat. And of course exercise helps too.
