Is eating 3 pieces of fruit in one sitting, every day, too much fruit, especially since it’s in one sitting.

My concern is how much sugar that is. Yes I know fruits are whole and they contain fibre, but just wanted to double check on your thoughts,

Is it OK?

Don’t know but I usually eat a banana for breakfast.

You should know though since you have a degree in nutrition!

Yea one fruit for breakfast is definitely okay, maybe even 2,but 3…

As someone with PCOS too… I think they say ppl with PCOS should try not to overdo sugar… Idk.

Probably depends on which fruit it is. If you eat three pieces of fruit just once a day, it’s probably all right.

Cos I would eat them all, in the same sitting. If it was spread out across the day it’s different.

I’m concerned I’m raising my blood sugar too high every day but maybe that’s not the case or not a problem with fruit.

Yea I have a passed masters degree in human nutrition but to this question unfortunately I do not know.

If I eat more than one fruit a day, I gain weight.

Oh, do you know why?

Too much sugar, I think. Even naturally occurring sugar seems to be too much if I don’t practice moderation.

I have started eating many more non-starchy veggies again now that I’m losing weight…cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, carrots…yum! :blush:

I have pcos and us folk are apparently meant to eat less sugar that’s also why I’m a bit concerned about 3 fruit in one go. It has to do with insulin resistance.

However I plan to exercise every other day. Sooo maybe it’s OK but idk.

It’s ok.the sugars in fruit slowly release from fiber in the large intestine. It’s different than eating sugar directly

Some people only recommend fruit on the weekend. Probably a serving a day is fine.

Like everyone said, it depends on the fruit. For instance a serving of fruit is only half of a banana because the sugar content is so high. As opposed to pineapple, which has less sugar content wise. It’s reasonable to eat three fruits a day, but I would spread it throughout your day to be easier on your blood sugars.

I mostly eat strawberry, blueberry, raspberry and blackberry. Blackberry is my fav fruit
