They’re talking about put me on the injectable
It’s good but it has some serious side effects. Personally I think it’s worth it if you want to keep the nightmare away.
I was on invega for 14 years and struggled. Didn’t know it could get better cause I had tried a lot of the newer drugs also. Then about two years ago I tried perphenazine and my symptoms improved greatly. Also lost weight on perphenazine. Idk it works for some people I hopefully will never have to get back on it. I also got some man boobs from it. I took the shot to get out of psychosis too. Got on the pill form as soon as I could though once I felt the psychosis lift a bit.
Hated it. And my prolactin went vrry very high so i ditched and switched.
I like mine it’s a more effective medicine and a lot of people don’t realize that in the beginning when their doctor puts them on it it could be because they think you need a stronger medicine. I wasted years trying to find the right medication because I only saw the side effects but in all honesty you could end up jailed like I was from doing something bad so don’t ask for opinions here on medicine ask your doctor learn by my mistake
I’m currently on clozapine. Is that weaker?
Clozapine is a heroic medication only you and your doctor should discuss it because it’s so hit or miss
Also the akathisia was real bad on invega. When I took it I had to take benztropine which I also don’t like. I’m off both now.
Invega works for my symptoms but as @PikaTchu said what works for 1 might not work for another.
My main problem is paranoia/persecutory delusions. Does it work on it
Yes it has helped mine but it took a few months.
Just discuss your worries with your pdoc.
Invega is a good med at least for me. I’ve been getting the injections for years.
There are just as many drug responses as people on the surface of the earth. I’d say Rispeirdone didn’t agree with me. Not efficious for me and had a heavy side effects profile to me. Because of that Invega wouldn’t agree with me either because the active metabolite is Risperidone in Invega. But a friend of mine is on Invega 6 mg and is doing very well. I personally prefer Clopixol over any other antipsychotics. It always work and it doesn’t cause me to have any severe side effects.
Im on Invega injection and it works well for me, no paranoia or unwanted thoughts
Invega / Xeplion / Paliperadone is not a bad med. You just got to stick to it for at least 6 months.
Anyway thought you was on the Clozapine?
I simply cannot believe they are chopping and changing your meds that quickly?
I have been on cloz for a long time.
I’m on max dose of Invega injection and still become manic on it and psychotic. They didn’t stop the Invega just proscribed a mood stabiliser which calmed me down. Now I’m off the mood stabiliser and the mania and psychosis hasn’t come back. I was on a high still after coming back from Sri Lanka. I’m being closely monitored thought to see if I become unwell again.
Invega is the med that helps me best with my voices. Clozapine helps me sleep. The combo seems to work.
Invega is better than clozapine. Abilify maintena is a shot… You could ask them about instead. (It’s milder)
Well sorry, if your on “cloz” they aint gonna put you on invega are they?
Sure your not attention seeking a bit my dear?
