I wish i could maintain my mental health and be skinny at the same time

Im feeling a bit low seeing other girls with perfect bodys. My body was never perfect im not perfect. But at least when i was skinny i was somewhat healthier. Now i have got high cholesterol and hypothyroidism at 24. I dread to think what it will be like in the future. Im so fat now im getting stretch marks on my belly. Im so embarrassed tbh

happens, there’s little that can be done other than exercise and diet. yes it’s hard, but it’ll make a difference

Don’t feel bad about yourself! There are ways to lose weight on meds. Hang in there. How long have you been on meds? Have you tried to lose weight with a Systematic diet?
You don’t have to feel hopeless. There are ways to deal with it. I gained 100 lb on clozapine and lost it when I switched to Abilify. I have some loose skin still, but I hope that I will bounce back in the next year or two.

Don’t give up

I was on abilify 3 years now im on olanzapine for 1 year was diagnosed 4-5 years ago

Did you gain weight on Abilify?

I did unfortunately and i didnt really get on with it. I much prefer olanzapine but i have unfortunately gained more weight with this one.

My secret is walking. Fasting helps but walking is the number one way to lose weight.
I clocked an average of 40k steps a day last week!!! A new high for me!!!

10K was what I started at daily

Set it as your base goal in your fitness app, listen to music and just keep strolling.

I walked in my room or on my porch at first. (U don’t have to go outside if you have paranoia ((I do)))

Thats brilliant. You are doing so well

You can too! Post your steps on the exercise thread. @rogueone is a good inspiration he’s like the resident fitness guru and proof that dieting and exercise work!!

That’s how I felt for sure. That’s why walking worked for me. Gyms make me suicidal lol

Just start by pacing in your house/apt, record your steps and meet your mark for the day. Don’t eat sugar! Except for whole fruit :strawberry: I like strawberries for example.

I hope this helps!

@FreeLunch is giving you great advice. Walking is a great way to keep up your metabolism. I don’t do gyms, but I started taking photos out in parks and wherever and that kind of gave me a reason to take more steps.

I used to be skinny until I got on meds. My body wasn’t perfect either but I miss being skinnier. I try to exercise, but it’s not enough. I’d like to go walking more but I get anxious about walking by myself
