Do you exercise and watch what you eat?

I do to a certain extent. I have alot of personal issues and this just puts the icing on the cake for me. I want to have children someday but i feel as if ill be so repulsive no one will want me added to my other issues. I feel as though i want to go it alone now because of these issue but im not sure they will let me.

Don’t feel bad about your weight. I understand it sucks that AP adds weight for us just to be stable. But it’s worth the trade off. I’d just like to say, I appreciate the body positivity movement and not feel like you need to be thin to be happy.

But i was thin before all of this it just hurts to be so ugly now.

This is out of your control. You need the APs. I hope you find a way to accept yourself. I know on Seroquel for me - it was impossible to lose weight when I tried.

I hear ya.

You’re either a fat zombie on the meds, or thin and crazy off of them. But the doctors just prescribe away…never telling you about the weight gain side effects.

I’m up about 20lbs on Abilify and can’t lose the extra pounds no matter what I do.

Its shĂ—Ă— set of cards really.

Have you or are you willing to risk AP changes to a weight neutral AP?

You could ask your psychiatrist about “Lybalvi”. It’s olanzapine and another drug combined together and results in much less weight gain.

Well i would but im sensitive to medications and oylanzapine seems to be working for me apart from this isde affect. I was on abilify before and i still gained weight and that is a weight nutral one

You are just going to have to buckle down and really try to lose weight if you want to.

Most of us have meds that make us gain.

All of us have stress.

It’s up to you to diet and get some healthy movement in your life.

I’m kind of fat so I cut out sugar a couple weeks ago and lost 13-15lbs.

It’s possible to lose weight on these medications, just more difficult.

Yeah it’s so difficult for me to lose more weight.
I lost about 23 pounds starting 6 months ago but now I’ve plateaued because of these meds.
But I’m not going to give up and as long as I don’t gain weight I’ll be kind of happy about it.

I gained weight on Olanzapine too

Find that Olanzapine doesn’t make you feel fully satiated after a meal, and within a few hours you feel mega hungry again, and then you start binging on snacks

My Doc said this is quite normal on Olanzapine
