I found a job for £28k but it's a night job

Apparently night jobs are bad for health

I read it disrupts the natural circadian rhythm and speeds up ageing and ageing related diseases.

F u c k my life lol. Just what I needed to hear.

Oh really, is it because there’s less people around?

Swing shift isn’t too bad. It’s graveyard that really messes with your sleep. What are the hours of this job?

Yea it’s definitely graveyard type. And long hours. Something like from 7pm to 7am.

But only like 3 days a week.!! Yet full time!!

Less people, I am more alive at night, and I am sensitive to light. I dislike going out in bright sunlight.

I might have taken a job with those hours when I was younger. At age 63 there’s no way I could do that now.

Do you work atm? Yea it’s pretty long hours but time to go gym on my days off and chill.

ATM I’m sitting in my living room eating homemade, sugar free chocolate chip cookies, lol. But I have a three day a week job, four hours a day.

Mmm sugar free?? So what is making them sweet?

How much would you earn in total?

I mean if you are getting paid and only have to work 3 days a week. Sounds like a good deal?

What kind of work is it?

It’s care work.

At night tho… I’m worried about my sleeping pattern. And health.

But omg this, means I could still go therapy actually cos I’ll be working at night.
Another pro.

So it’s a hard decision to make.

Night shift jobs are bad for me, they messed my circadian rhythm since I’m bipolar, Doctor told me stay clear of night shifts due to them increasing my chance of experiencing a manic episode even while medicated.

I don’t think it’s a problem if you don’t suffer from sleep disorders? Also you are still young.

Care work is great for personal development. You get to meet people in need, you will learn to put yourself in their shoes. But you have to have empathy.

I myself am so wrapped up in myself that I don’t have a lot of empathy. I wouldn’t be able to do it.

Night shifts are awesome. I’m a night person so I do better at them. Anybody remember that show Night Court?

Did nights for 11 years as a Nursing Assistant. Preferred it actually, cos obviously its quieter. Expect it to ruin your social life tho, you will want to be in bed, when others are going out for the day. And expect to get wound the hell up, when you trying to sleep during the day and there is noise outside. Moneys usually good - but its very anti social.
