Today I made a confession at work

I said to my supervisor,

I struggle working with people around.

I resign.

And you know what?

She said why don’t you try the night shift

I thought she’d be happy to get rid of me

But she was offering another job role in the hospital

I’m pretty happy about that

Hopefully I don’t find that role too difficult

So she will get back to me about it on Monday when the manager is in.

As far as I’m aware

She said I can do a one week trial to see what it’s really like and to shadow someone for first 2 days

Thankyou very much I hope it works out too because I would be an essential worker so can contiue working if there’s another lock down which might happen in the winter

I’m not sure if she is really pleased about me

But she seems to think I’m at least adequate lol

Wow! That’s great. She must find you very valuable to offer you an accommodation. That really should make you feel good.

She was so sweet. Instead of me working, for the next 1.5 hours she explained the other job roles available and their locations and asked someone else to help me out today :’)

The shift is from 9.30 pm until 5.30 am! Lol I am gonna be one of those people with strange sleep patterns.

Thanks Zannah

I really hope the manager is OK with it… It is ultimately her decision but she is on holiday atm

Looks like your hard work is good enough they’d like to keep you around. I’ve worked a permanent afternoon shift…it was like 3pm to 11pm and it was good. I enjoyed everything being quiter at night.

Good luck @Zoe. Hope it works out well for you!

What a cool manager, sounds like a good place to work

I loved night shift, especially if you can listen to music. Its so peaceful and personally it made me surprisingly productive

Will you be able to stay up that late? That sounds tough. But some people love that shift
