I've been working 6 days in a row

It is so hardcore work

And they seriously expect perfectionism since the patients otherwise make comments

Right now I’m giving it a chance

As it’s just the start

But if it continues like this after like a month or whatever

I gotta go

I am feeling too stretched otherwise

For now I haven’t given up

Family are being encouraging too

Glad I’ve got two rest days on Monday

Just there’s so much to the job

It’s madness atm

But I hope to adjust

That’s too much! Enjoy your Monday off.

The most I’ve worked is 3 days a week but I was hired for part time.

I can relate. I just started a new job that I love. But I work 4 days in a row 10 hrs a day so far plus 4 hours on the 5th day. It hasn’t been easy. Don’t give up! You got this! If you have to take a step back its understandable but also think of the challenge you are conquering by working so hard. There may be other hidden benefits…

I had a job similar to that about 20 years ago. It was 4 days a week but 12 hour shifts. And they were the night shift. 8pm to 8am. It was a 6 month contract position then it was over.

The shifts at my current job are usually 5-7 hours and that is enough for me.

Just keep your eye on that brass ring, i.e. your paycheck!

I’m really impressed that you’re handling this well - you know you’re doing your best, but you’re able to see what your limit is.

I hope you adjust soon. Good luck!

You’ll get better at it as time progresses. Maybe it’s possible to start with fewer hours and then increase over time. Are you interested in working part-time?

I admire people on here who can work with a diagnosis of schizophrenia. It can’t be easy. I used to work but I lost my job when I became unwell

Starting any new job is tiring, but when it is a physically demanding job that’s an extra huge adjustment. 6 days in a row is long! You’re doing amazing Mae. It does get easier
