If you place your 4th finger below the 3 you can make an f chord
chords are essential and will stick with you the rest of the wayâŚjust go slow and it will help memorize the finger settings on the chordsâŚ
That is quite a lot. But pick it up every day. Also use your ears. Those are all major chords so they should all sound the same if you play them right.
On guitar, we call it the âCAGEDâ system. They are essentially all the shapes, and then everything else is a variation on them in some way.
Its very useful to learn guitar like this from the beggining. Most of my friends had months of just learning random chords and then relearning stuff.
Sounds like your guitar teacher is good IMO
Youâve already learned D and A chords! Youâre doing great!
As a former piano teacher, I can tell you the instructor wonât mind if you come back not being able to quite get a chord. Just keep working at it. If you canât get it by your next lesson, just explain what your problems are and the teacher will give you tips. Just remember, like I said, youâre doing great!
Thanks. I appreciate it @LilyoftheValley .
How are the fingers holding up? Sore at all?
Not really. Maybe a little bit. I mostly took a break over the weekend. I do have a callous on strumming thumb though. Probably a good thing.
Nothing I canât handle.
Itâs never too late to master an instrument.
Good for you @Bowens
Best of luck with everything!
Thank you @Wave
I wish you all luck and many blessings with your instrument @Bowens. Good for you!
Thank you @SkinnyMe .
Donât want to spam so just updating in this thread. I have D A and E chords down. I had to skip CâŚI just cannot get my fingers right not to mute string on C chordâŚno idea how Iâm going to fix this issue. Iâve got 6 days to figure it out thoughâŚ
Yeah that is kind of why i stopped trying to play guitar. I couldnât get my fingers into the right positions. I had friends that were really good, though. Anyway, you should keep practicing. It will also help your cognition if you keep at it, so it is good for your mental health.
It took me 35 years to memorize the letters of the notes in first position though I could read music .
Wow!!! 35 years!!! I thought my 16 years was something.
Hey you play guitar? You look like a pianist. Ever heard of the kalimba?
No, but I looked him up.
just wait until u get to the f chord. it makes c look easy
Maybe you could do guitar covers for practise and post them here.
