Really hoping he doesn’t add too much for me to learn in the next session. I do not trust my post sz memory. It would be nice to move along and learn quickly but I fear that if I don’t take things slow, I will get things mixed up and end up going backwards.
Not sure if it’s a lack of confidence or a real fear tbh.
I also really feel I need some time to build finger flexibility and strength. I still have a difficult time not hitting some strings and muting them because I dont have the flexibility to come down straight on higher strings.
Hey don’t be afraid to ask him to slow down. He’s your teacher, it’s his job to go at your pace, and he should also appreciate it, otherwise you won’t be getting the most out of his lessons. If he gets impatient with you, get another teacher. Or call me and I’ll clock him. I’ll show him what for….
yeah, let the tutor know how you feel, if you need to go over something again don’t worry about it, I think if you can learn a little bit each time then all the little bits will add up,
i am trying to learn a few things as well atm and its going ok but its little steps each time and I’m trying to not overdo it,
I’m hoping I can take advantage of 6 free guitar sessions at a charity I hire my guitar from and maybe trade in my guitar for a better model (maybe)
The first lessons homework was A, C, D, E and G chords and learning and practicing E, F, G on little E string(this part I had studied on my own and had a head start).
This weeks homework is trying to combine various chords, He added 3 new chords to practice. Gave me B, C and D on string B to practice and two simple songs to learn(I also have already somewhat studied B, C D and learned a short song called “Merrily we roll along” which uses EFG,BCD, so I also have a head start on this)
YEah, he mentioned something about knocking on heavens door when we were talking aobut those chords.
I am current practicing “Ode To Joy” by Beethoven using EFG on little E and BCD on B string. Probably gonna take me couple days to perfect it. Gonna messs with chords later…
