Get a dog ... seriously

If you have money saved up, or if you have an animal shelter nearby, get a dog, seriously.

Not only are they good companions, but they are good protectors.

My boy starts barking if anyone steps foot on my property. Mind you he is a golden retriever, but I raised him well .

And honestly, dogs seem to love women more than men. I think because they shower them with attention and affection. My boy loves my mom more than anyone in the family.

I lived with 3 families in my lifetime and 2 of them had dogs and in both cases they loved the mom very much.

Seriously, get a dog if you can.

We just got a chocolate lab recently. She’s old but a very good dog.

I’ve had a lot of dogs through my life growing up and a few as an adult.
I love my Cleo. She’s such a sweet girl. In a year or so I’ll have to give her to another home because the place I’ll be moving doesn’t allow pets. But I have a family where she can live and the kids will be able to go visit. I’ll miss her so very much.

Getting a dog is a great idea but require a lot more work than a cat. I think everyone should be allowed pets where they live.

My babygirl is everything to me. She’s a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. We rescued her from the shelter 7 years ago and I cannot even fathom life without her. She brings me so much joy and I hope I bring her the same. She’s the cutest bully ever and I am her super-attached Mom. I will do anything for her and if anyone ever hurt her, they better run, fast…

I’ve been tempted to get a service dog a few times, but I don’t think I could handle the responsibility.

This is too painful for me.
It’s been 3 years since I became so sick and delusional that I gave up my beloved best friend up for adoption.

I was just so sick.

Forgive me buddy.

He was adopted by a nice caring young couple with a child.

I spoiled him and was overprotective of him.

I apologize @Mr.Dre, I didn’t mean to derail your positive thread on dog ownership.

I think dogs are great!
I’ve owned dogs all my life and they are so therapeutic.

I may get another dog sometime in the not so distant future.

Or you could get a real pet a.k.a. a cat.
