But my mum won’t allow one here so I’m waiting patiently … But I’m finding the wait so difficult. I’ve never had a pet before.

All dogs are wonderful, amazing and loving. But I have a major bias for my chihuahuas.
Also they both can fit in my messenger bag and having them with me at all times helps me when I am out. I really think dogs are good for those with MI.

Get a cat instead.
They are a lot easier to take care of than owning a dog and they are such a pleasure to have around.
I recently adopted a 10 month old kitten.
She’s my pride and joy!

Dogs are great. We have a Beagle mix and a Blue Heeler. They can require a lot from you though. Maybe give it some time and if your mom is never open to the idea then consider volunteering at a shelter.
