Got rid of the depression my pdr caused me by abandoning me and saying that I will stay on my current meds and stay in bed forever. I give him a choice of either prescribing Zyprexa now and waiting for Vraylar or just waiting for Vraylar. If he refuses I have an apt soon with my family Dr who can write me a referal to the friend of my mother, a pdr in his clinic. Honestly maybe I got brain damage from psychosis but I got nothing to lose by trying Zyprexa and Vraylar.
If these don’t work I will be happy to stay on Risperdal and in bed forever.
zyprexa ime was the most sedating and appetite increasing. have you tried invega, its made from risperidone. but for me is not as sedating as when i was on olanzapine, although ive never been on risperidone it seems to me olanzapine is the heavier med
I had less negative symptoms during the months I was on Zyprexa in 2016. But maybe its because I had stopped all meds for 1.5 years and my dopamine stayed high idk. Maybe negative symptoms get worse with time. Only way to know is to try Vraylar.
I would tell my psychiatrist that “I have rights as a patient”. It might be harder than it seems.
I don’t like to argue too much, it leads nowhere. I will just tell him what I want and if he refuse ill tell him that I will change him for the friend of my mother, her clinic is 5 min from my house and its the same clinic as my family Dr so its a 3 for 1 deal. For sure I will change. My current pdr is 30-40min highway, next to the hospital. Its 1h20 going there and getting back home. I don’t like driving anymore.
Why don’t you want to speak up for yourself. Is it a scary situation?
i did pretty well on olanzapine aside from side effects. its the most stable ive ever been. i messed myself up by smoking on it and needed a higher dose then all i could do was sleep. also gained 170 pounds and got tardive dyskinesia when i was on it. but before that i was ok, i wish i would have stayed on it when i was first put on it. i gained about 70 lbs first time but i was a twig before starting it so it wasnt as bad, then when i went off it and was on geodon and lost all the weight but went nuts i started back on it. that time i gained 170. going on and off meds can mess things up
What should I tell him?
I was on 10mg stable when I was on it.
What dose are you on?
Just tell him you have rights as patient. It is illegal for him to do what he is doing. What do you think about all this?
I forgot that you are from a different country, is it different where you are from…with this situation?
I have a hunch if you switch pdocs it might be worse than speaking up.
He just called me and agreed to prescribe Vraylar when it comes out in Canada!
Are you serious…what made him change his mind, did you speak up?
I think its bcz I told him about switching him to the friend of my mother.
Meh the 40min drive will at least get me out of the house and allows me to keep my driving skills
oh, that is great that you spoke up…congratulations
Thanks! @Jake 15
