I don’t think it gets worse except from age. Once you’re stable on meds it shouldn’t get worse.

Since I was first in hospital for a diagnosis, I’ve gotten less and less. The days are the same. What is this all about? I feel like in Groundhog Day.

I can’t get up from bed without a cigarette and have a structure. The day drags on for so long. It’ll be okay just before going to sleep.

There is also nothing left that I want from life. I just need everything I buy. And I’m not interested in things like family or a love life. I can no longer work either.

Maybe it’s just a wait to see who dies first in the family, either my father or me.

My first psychiatrist told me that sz can reduce memory, problem solving skills and concentration. He made me do an IQ test done by a neuropsychologist in mental hospital.

what can we do, where powerless, schizophrenia deliberating disease. like cancer.

For me it’s not so much the disorder that’s dumbing me down but more likely it’s the meds that are dulling my senses.
But I still take my meds religiously.

I can still detect irony when I see it.

I call it “the mush”. Applies to mental and physical dullness. Lack of energy.

My level of immersion in the mush varies hour to hour. Sometimes I have a good 5 hour swing where the mush is gone and I just do effective ■■■■. Other times I’m just tired and do a bunch of nothing.

I don’t think my intellect per se has been affected. The number one predictor of what will suppress me intellectually is what medication I’m taking.

I keep forgetting to take my memory pills.

Yeah mi can effect you in ways you dont think possible. You can have intelligence, but your brain says you have none. And, you cant make any good decisions.

Yes, according to testing scores, I am severely cognitively impaired.
