I know it sounds a bit odd or strange but I kind of look forward to taking my psych meds because I know that without them I’d start to unravel.
Anyone else?

I take 2 meds. Vraylar reduces anxiety and Cymbalta gives me energy.
I don’t look forward to the depot (I hate needles)
I take them on autopilot. I don’t really think about it. It’s automatic.
i dont look foward to it
I like taking my risperidone at night because it’s calming and it helps me sleep.
It also means the day is over and there’s nothing left to do but rest.
Yes. I know I feel better taking them. They’re my sleep aid and help through the day.
I like taking them cuz it means I can go to bed and become oblivious to the world for several hours.
I did this same post in December titled
Do you ever look forward to taking your meds?
If you would like to see more answers.
Oh I’m sorry @Dude1
I must have missed it
I would just like to add I cannot go a day well without my meds. I really look forward to taking them and how they call me down and comfort me. But I dread the 12 hour sedation after I take them I am very sedated and don’t function well until about 12 hours after the sedation wears off. Then I got 12 solid hours with real good stability and energy. If I don’t take them at night and skip them it’s so much easier to wake up and get up for the day. But my day is very uncomfortable and nervous and anxious and things.
I take them everyday as a matter of course but as long as I get my beauty sleep I’m relatively stable off meds as well so it’s not like they are holding me together, it’s more like they help delay the onset of symptoms enough to get me through them without a full blown relapse when they do spike for whatever reason, especially when I do go ultra-insomniac.
However I did experience side-effects lately, although they already subsided apparently, so it’s not like I’m ecstatic taking them, but I reason that I’m taking a low dose and as long as the side effects are manageable the added stability is worth the tradeoffs.
To be honest if being psychotic wasn’t such a danger to my long term well-being I’d probably push to discontinue taking them but alas.
It’s like having to choose everyday between a round of russian roulette or taking a spoonful of sh*t, you do what you gotta do but you don’t look forward to the event each day, at least that’s how I live it.
i can only look forward to taking them because after i take them i cant look back because im asleep
No. I take too many meds. I also take a shot twice a day. Insulin. Once in the the morning and once at night. Sometimes 2 in the morning if I take Ozempic. I take 6 or 7 pills in the morning. 3 pills before supper and 1 shot and one pill at night.
Instead of getting up in the morning, sipping on something to wake up, orienting myself and having something for breakfast, I have to check my blood sugar, take at least one shot and take a half a dozen pills.
I find it quite annoying.
Yeah, me too. It’s a daily ritual, like putting on deodorant or brushing my teeth.
I’m usually perplexed because one or two are missing or misplaced from the pill box.
Just part of life over 50. Take a pill for this and a pill for that and as someone been on psych pills since 1999 I wouldn’t say it’s something to look forward to but I also wouldn’t think it’s a negative either because like you I get good results.
Just something I need to do with both physical and mental meds and routine is so good for me. I take meds same time every morning and every night if I can.
It’s hard to take pills every day, at exactly the same time. I aim for morning meds at 8:30 am and night meds at 8:30 pm but I find it easier to aim for between an hour before or after those times.
just something i do. i peel off the labels cause i know all my meds by shape color.
i put a bunch usually about 10 pills in my palm and swallow dry.
too lazy to get water.
i use an app called Medisafe. it reminds me to take my pill and it can count how many u have left and remind u to get refills too.
