That’s great, I listen to audio books when I really want to read a book but don’t have the ability to read it. Also with reference, all my degree was done by the text books being provided in audio format!
I wish I was ok with it but I am not I buy books to start them but never even get half way.
Ah that is a shame, maybe one day you will complete one? It’s just not possible at this moment in time
Love love love…diving into the world of a BOOK…being able to live in a fantasy for an hour…mmm pleasure getting off this planet for a moment
Linda Chaikin is a great author
I just bought Chaucer’s Troilus and Criseyde. I thought I had Canterbury Tales in Middle English, but I can’t find it, so I am going to order a new copy. I also need a book on British History as a companion for the books. First, I want to find an audio copy of Canterbury Tales in Middle English to help me with my pronunciations, though. I am going to reread Canterbury Tales before I start in on Troilus and Criseyde. I want to read critical papers on all of these too and really put in a lot of effort on studying them. I am really excited! I love Chaucer!.
I love all classic novels written in English.
I don’t enjoy reading anymore, sz and meds made me stupid. I can’t focus, enjoy or comprehend.
I have tried reading his works but just couldn’t get my head around it, maybe I’ll try again at some point! I hope you enjoy delving in!
That is so sad, I hope you can improve so you can enjoy things again
Yay! I just ordered A Distant Mirror: The Calamitous 14th Century by Barbara W. Tuchman and Norton Critical Edition’s version of The Canterbury Tales in Middle English. I can’t wait to get them. I am so excited! I love to study independently. I did a lot of classes from my degrees online, and when I dropped out of high school, I got books in various subjects so I could study by myself and try to keep up with my classmates. I did well on my GED as a result. I am really looking forward to “getting back in the game”.
I love reading but yea I totally get the concentration part being a problem. What’s funny is I have a hard time with fiction, probably cuz I can’t control my imagination when I attempt to read it. I like textbooks lol like intro to global politics and economics and books on the philosophy of them. And even some books on psychology. I really want to try revisiting Dan Brown’s Inferno though. Reading it Literally felt like a movie in my head. I’d love to try to go back and finish it!
