If yes, what is one of your favourite books? Or if no have your say! I love reading, but struggle with it at my worst concentration wise… one of my favourite books is ‘wild’ by Cheryl Strayed, I actually got to meet her last year at a local literature festival, she was all Id hope she’d be. I love biographies particularly when recovery is involved. My favourite fiction book is much harder to decide, too many!
I have a similar issue, i used to be able to read chapters at a time but right now I struggle with a few pages. I bought ‘the devil and Mrs pryme’ by Coelho they had a selection in a used book store I go in. Is the Alchemist as good as people say it is? It’s one that comes up on my kindle recommendations a lot. I hope you can read more soon.
My favorite books are probably: Siddhartha, All Quiet on the Western Front, Divided Soul - the biography of Marvin Gaye, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, To Kill a Mockingbird and Ironweed.
I haven’t read in a while, but the books I mentioned are always ones that pop into my mind when I am asked ‘what is your favorite book?’
Hey I have that waiting for me at the bookstore. I’m going to read it as part of my self help / magic collection. I also found a copy of initiation into hermetics by franz bardon online.
Initiation into hermetics is an awesome book. He has a different style of reaching elemental equilibrium. Inside his techniques he says to breathe in the different elements to establish this. It’s pretty interesting. Read it back a long time ago. There were also other interesting things in it.
I am a bit sad that theoccult.bz went down. It had all the great occultistic books dating since the dawn of time.
…I can read for hours sitting on my laptop, but I don’t have the concentration to read paperback books…is anybody else this way? maybe I need to get me a kindle.
I don’t have any favorite books yet, generally I read non-fiction novels, and I’m always happy when I find a book that explain things with simple language…like investing books
I don’t read as much as I have at times in the past, but I still enjoy perusing a good book. My niece sent me a couple of good books recently - the new translation of “Anna Karenina” and “The Sympathizer”. A guy named Viet Thanh Nguyen wrote “The Sympathizer”. He got the Pulitzer Prize for it.
I love to read. My guilty pleasure was reading Christine Feehan’s Leopard series. They have a lot of adult scenes, though, and I decided that I wanted to be a better Christian, so I donated all of her books to the library. I still think about them often, especially when a new one comes out and I see it at the store. I want to read them, but I am sticking to my guns!
I struggle with reading but I do enjoy it when I can. Mainly I read manga and my favorite is a series called “Blue Exorcist”. But my favorite book is “Dragon Rider”
