I like Elton Sacs book, about her life story.
I like thrillers and biographies
Every once in a while a read an amazing book that stands out from the rest
I used to like Peter James books
I read Virginia Andrews years ago flowers in the attic
I also like Bridget Jones diary
I used to like dean koonz books years ago but strangely I don’t enjoy them much now
I hate to admit, but my favourite book is Nabokovs “Lolita.” First time i read it i was too appalled by the subject of the novel and gave up reading it.
A couple of years after i read it again, and i couldn’t resist the beauty of Nabokovs prose even the subject of the book is horrible and disgusting. After that i read almost everything of Nabokov, i had a crush on his prose and style of writing.
I’m impressed you read Nabokov, he’s really a hard one. I watched the movie the other night.
Thanks @Jinx i have experienced some cognitive decline during the last 10 years, so I don’t think I will be able to enjoy Nabokov as much as I did back then. He is a very complex author. His prose is out of this world. I have never seen the film, perhaps because of its subject, it’s easier to get a distance when you read him
And I don’t agree with all the academics saying that Lolita is about the beauty of art itself. Bullocks. No, it’s a novel about an old, disgusting guy having a sexual relationship to 14 year old girl. Unfortunately it’s beautiful written, and you forget the subject because of the style of the novel.
I prefer thrillers and real life stories like memoirs etc. But I haven’t been able to focus on reading a book in a while. I miss it
Same here. I cant focus. Now i’m trying to read Ian McEwans newest novel, he is easy to read and at the same time it’s quality literature.
I really miss back when i was able to read several novels a week besides poetry.
I like yound adult fiction alot od the time. Haha super easy to read and awesome stories. I read them too fast but enjoy them thoroughly
I love books about music. No specific favorites though.
I read quite a bit of young adult fiction too now. I find it a lot easier to read.
I read some memoirs, some about peoples’ experiences on the sz spectrum. A lot of non fiction as well. And animal stories like Felix the Railway Cat.
Right now I am reading a book on overcoming catastrophic thinking, and am 3/4 through a great young adult novel called Under Rose Colored Skies. It’s good.
I don’t have a favorite book. I love almost all of them.
I like books about medieval and ancient history.
I’m reading a book about imperfection by Brene Brown. It’s pretty good.
It talks about stuff that is important to me.
It is from amazon.
Not Pope. Absolutely not Pope.
Robert Silverberg after 1965 rocked my world… he’s my mom’s age. Man, I’d like to talk to him! I’m a huge fan. What a simple mind!
I like On Conquering Schizophrenia by Robert Francis. His second book is good, too, but shorter. I have read the first one three times because it makes me feel good. He is an LCSW with schizophrenia, and he is on Reddit.
The Velveteen Rabbit, The Little Prince, and The Catcher in the Rye used to be my favorite. They make me cry, but I do not think that I would like them anymore. I prefer nonfiction ever since being diagnosed with schizophrenia.
The Saks book is one of the few schizophrenia biographies with a happy ending. I mainly like biographies, and autobiographies.
I used to like books about high school life and coming of age.
I also thoroughly enjoyed almost all of Jules Verne’s novels, as a child.
And Mark Twain.
Sci-fi too, but less so since coming down with sz.
I think Gulliver’s travels is my favourite book. And Quran and the Quiet Room. I like thrillers and drama novels and Enid Blyton children’s books
