Dieting-What works for you?

I recently ate normal food with a calorie range of about 1500 calories a day.

In three weeks I put on over 3kg eating this way.

I went back on my huel diet of 1200-1300 calories a day with the fruit i have and lost 2 and half kilos.

When I eat proper food I gain weight just like that. Bloody meds.

I spread the shakes out at 9am, 3pm and 7pm and so can manage the hunger this way. It is only a couple of days from depot that I get really, really hungry and have to have 1400 calories, but otherwise I manage on just the shakes and couple of pieces of fruit.

It is the only thing that works for me and although i am hungry I am back to a healthy weight.

What works for you?

It’s tricky cus in my teens I had an eating disorder. Calorie restricting, turned into binge/purging.

I try and not restrict but exercise properly, when I do that I more naturally wanna eat better. Lately I’ve been eating a lot less but not in a restrictive way so it’s nice

I just don’t eat a lot…maybe lunch and breakfast but no dinner usually…just go to bed early. I drink a glass of 2 percent milk sometimes to skip a meal…worked for me…I lost all my extra weight through diet alone over a seven year period. now I have about twenty pounds to lose to be at my perfect weight.

I eat a lot of salads, but refuse to go hungry.

I don’t diet. I eat various types of food, both raw and processed. My weight is some 12kg extra and has been stable for a few years. I should do a blood test, just in case.

I did diet, extremely, during a past episode. A small sandwich and a coffee in the morning, only water later in the day. I lost weight quickly and my body felt good, however after they put me back on meds, hunger came back as well.

I eat a light breakfast, like a piece of fruit, then lunch at my clubhouse, and some kind of stir-fry veggies from the food bank for dinner. I don’t eat much meat cuz it’s too expensive. I don’t eat out at all. Whatever i eat during the day, i weigh/measure my foods and log them in a calorie tracker. I also exercise a lot (i walked 4 miles before breakfast this morning). Since going on the Lybalvi and off the Mounjaro i still want to eat a lot but so far my weight is pretty stable. I’ll know tomorrow when i see my nurse for a weigh-in.

This lybalvi, is it working for you?

Olanzipine is a med i haven’t tried due to the weight gain, but with the lybalvi I might consider it.

there was a guy on here who felt he had to change due to its side effects though.

I thought that for a few weeks, but I really don’t have to eat a lot to gain weight and did.

Low carbs low sugar.
Try to eat a meal of mostly vegetables (and meat) a couple of times a week.

My diet is mostly : eggs and black pudding (breakfast everyday) spinach and chicken, spinach and fish, bunless burger - and when I have motivation stir fried vegetables.
I still eat pizza a couple of times a week because I love it. And when I go out to eat I order what I want (I eat out less than once a month).

Also fasting definitely helps eating less food and allows your body to run off of fat stores. I try to eat between 2 and 10. Doesn’t always work though because I’m often up late.

If I didn’t have to eat food with my meds I would do 2 meals a day. Breakfast at 2, lunch at 5:30 and skipping dinner entirely.

I don’t really know…I’ve only been on it a couple weeks and i still have cravings. BUT, i think I’m doing better at not giving in to the cravings and bingeing so that might be it working.

I think it needs a few months adjustment. You might be having affects from the previous dosage still.

I have lost 20kilo without any calorie restriction

All I did was stop buying so much processed foods

Exercise 3/4 times a week

Still have odd treats here and there

Been a very slow journey this time

Have done it in an unsustainable way before and piled the weight back on very quickly

Probably talking just under a year to lose that much

But trying it gradually without cheating as that will bite you in the a s s

Keep at it!

It’s very hard to know the best way as we’re all so different

I cut out all added sugar, added salt, animal derived food, added preservatives, just eating organic wholefoods. Atm beans nuts and brown short grain rice only as I have no money left for food until 17 September. Yay.

Been doing this 4 1 week now

Eating moderate portion sizes. That’s also important

I love short grained brown rice! It’s so much better than long grain…
