Bed bugs oh my fing god

Apparently one of my brother’s friends (or more likely his nasty ass HO of a girlfriend) brought bed bugs into our house!!! We had to throw out his bed because it’s so nasty, HUNDREDS of those suckers under his bed… And they’ve invaded MY bed, too! Only a few of them but still, everything in the house has to be vacuumed and all the clothes have to be bleached and it’s just CRAZY!!! My mom spent $140 on bed bug covers for the mattresses and box springs. AGHGHGHGHGHGHGHG

And they’re really creepy and gross and I HATE THEM.

Done.

I wish I was a farmer. :disappointed_relieved:

I’m more likely to be a farmhand though… just because I’m me… :frowning:

Nooooooooooooo. Those things are so much worse than I realized.

Had to buy a steamer and try to take of the problem myself. We threw out lots of stuff. Even a newly purchased futon.

They ruined my some of my pants! Got blood spots on em from smashing/itching.

They were a real living nightmare for everyone.

I googled bed bug spray, and instead, the first website that came up gave a really complicated procedure. It sounds like a complete pain. Sorry.

Damn, I wish you luck. Sounds terrible.

Damn, that’s awful. I’ve never had bed bugs, thankfully. My building has a cockroach problem, and that’s bad enough.

There is something we never got around to trying and it’s called Food Grade Diatamaceous (sp?) Earth. They have a website somewhere about how to use it.

The Food Grade is safe. Other kinds are toxic I think.

They will be in the dressers and in other hidden spots, a guy I know had the same problem, he had to bring in experts to get rid of them, they super heated the house to kill off larva etc.

They had to take out a bunch of stuff before they could super heat the house

Ick, those things are pure hell. Do yourself a favor and call an exterminator now. Trying to handle it yourself will only lead to the colony getting bigger while you try uselessly to get rid of them. The experts can handle this.

I always called them creepy crawler thingys, but maybe they’re bed bugs. Can anyone tell me if you would describe bed bugs as “creepy crawler thingys”??? They’re never in my bed but I’ve seen them before. Like one hundred legs! Or is that a centipede…?

I guess it’s a no-boys tree house, in the bed bug world. :disappointed_relieved:

Yeah, you must be thinking of centipedes. Bed bugs have six legs.

The exterminators that use the super heat method mountainman mentions is probably the most sound way to get rid of em.

We didn’t actually get rid of em completely and had to sleep on air mattresses to avoid bites. Everyday we’d keep our feet off the carpet too and sat in chairs with metal railings (they can’t climb those).

We had to bring in pest control trust me it won’t work trying to do it yourself.

+1 to calling an exterminator. It’s not worth the hassle and risk to do it yourself. Save yourself the heartache and money and just call a professional now.

I believe @butterflybrains is the only person on the forum to successfully exterminate bed bugs on her own.

This is disgusting

This does not agree. This is very sad that you would say that of this.

Mean!

Oh thank heavens! The decency police have arrived to protect our delicate sensibilities from a discussion on how to best solve a common problem!
