I’ve been dealing with attention problems for years, it’s difficult to have a long and deep conversation with anyone. Sometimes, watching TV is hard for me too. I don’t know if you suffer the same situation, have you tried some remedy? Is there anything that works?
Ya, every sentence written or spoken is a subject and a predicate like everything in the universe. There is always a thing, and there is always something about it.
So when you are listening or reading, focus on what the subject of each sentence is, and then focus on what the predicate would be in the rest of the sentence. And just practice that the rest of your life like the pros. The amateurs have no attention span or focus because…they don’t know these simple things.
Yes. There are a lot of nootropics out there. I tried Sarcosine, Alpha GPC, and aniracetam just to name a few.
I know, but have you tried any of them?
I think Aniracetam, Alpha GPC, and Sarcosine improved my focus. I tried L-Theanine too. They all work. It’s been a while though. There are stronger supplements out there like stimulants or modafinil/adrafinil. Just be careful, I didn’t know what I was doing at the time when I took them. I think they helped though.
I tried this it is expensive though:
Are you on benzos? When I came off benzos my concentration improved.
Coffee 4 ever + 4

Yes I am. Because if i give them up, I couldnt sleep. (2 mg clonacepam at night). I wanna leave them, but not right now, its more important for me to sleep well, if I dont, my mind doesnt work.
Sarcosine really helps my concentration and executive functioning.
And there is Korean vitality ginseng root drink.
piracetam you should try
I’d stay away from nootropics and look more at augmenting natural chemistry.
Target serotonin and taurine… the corresponding proteins are Trypthophan and Cysteine/Taurine(both are pretty close)…
Oooh,… if you want good prolonged focus then don’t overlook the importance of potassium. It’s the salt that exists inside the nervous system with sodium being more the electrolyte of the body.
I use them all the time… except it’s more just to expedite the recovery from intoxication on caffeine or booze.
Really man the brain can function well on it’s own… What you really need is good sleep and a chemistry that leans towards the cleaner and natural side of things if you want to really learn how to imbue prolonged focus and less capacity for distraction.
The natural brain is pretty dexterious… Relaxation is just as accesbile as focus… Learn that relaxation in life isn’t something to be loathed… It’s meant to be enjoyed… Sharp with wit or high pace ain’t necessarily a realistic way to measure smarts. It’s frankly a bad pressure to keep oneself in that state. Not meaning to accused… just food for thought.
Nootropics that are effective really do just lean on massive amounts of caffeine… but it’s dangerous to have levels that high in the system. Hello insomnia…
Schizophrenics are not supposed to take ginseng of any kind !! My pdoc told me so.
I didn’t know that. Thank you for pointing this out.
The active effects that caffeine are known for play off of the natural role of serotonin… It’s really just a place holder… Megadosing serotonin can induce a state of fatigue that does eventually pass…
But yeah it’s the cognition molecule…
Dude please… please please don’t sell out to the use of Nootropics… It’s practically a scam. You can find similar results by just doing the natural work of life and enjoying the balance… Exercise can help maintain a sense of clarity and enjoyability within the self… Psychologically breeds better focus and an internal emphasis on health… IT’s a lot too take on and most people don’t actually want to make that kind of transition in full… but it can be done incrementally and there are all sorts of forms of exercise… I prefer biking and simple at home lifting with a balance targeting of the upper body… Not biceps or pecks… but the real bottlenecks of strength… the shoulders and triceps… allows over the head type work to be done more easily… compensates for the fact that I’m tall and most all of the work that I’ll naturally come across occurs below the shoulders (cause it’s designed for everyone else.)
Do jobs for me are killer… cause I get a crick in my back (I find this humorous)… if ever table in the world sat just a few inches higher I’d never run into that issue lol. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.
Looking to augment the body with chemicals that don’t naturally occur within it will reduce your health in the long run… It’s highly arguable and pretty much irrelevant in a lot of cases… but it’s really not something to disbelieve… People just love there bubbles of thinking they are doing it right… and humanity has evolved to have more healthy relationships with these substances… but in the long run… those will all be a tax on your natural systems…
If you have a medically considerable disorder then there are medications of all kinds within a competitive and highly regulated industry with all the side effects listed out plainly and efficacy demonstrated by case studies.
I think I might be taking this personally… I’m just going to stop now…
In the end there is no easy way… that’s what my life has told me… but you quit looking at the easy ineffective options and the real ones remaining start seeming like fulfilling things to take to. It really is exercise, good sleep, moderate caffeine… at most just a moderate amount… The kinds of amounts that have been statistically shown to improve memory and concentration… you’ll find it’s a surprisingly small amount and that it falls back in on itself if you get too much.
There really aren’t alternatives beyond amphetamines… or other medications in that class that I know nothing about… like vivanse or ridelin
I just started on Vyvanse yesterday. Didn’t sleep at all last night.
Hence my question … “apart from caffeine.” I see what you want to say and I find it interesting. The issue is that I do not want to take any stimulating, because I suffer from strong anxiety and insomnia. That’s why I take benzos. And the problem is not that I want to be concentrated for many hours. The problem is more acute, that is while I listen I lose words. I collect much less information than the one transmitted to me. And that is the frustrating thing. (Maybe it’s not focus, it’s something else)
I suppose that a good nutrition for the brain is the right thing to do as well as make the appropriate breaks. I lead to fairly balanced life, in terms of food and sports. I do housework. And I like to learn new things. But I recognize that I have lost certain faculties and I would like to take them back.
so I ask for advice. Thanks!
Try the potassium. Sweet potatoes, bananas… This a pretty widespread selection of sources for it.
If you get low-sodium table salt you can find it with a pretty profound amount of potassium… and iodine… iodine is one of those weird ones that you can’t find anywhere…
I find that the stronger my anxiety is the worse my focus is. When I’m really anxious I can’t hear what people are saying to me or comprehend and focus on reading or TV. So for me the supplements that help are l theanine. I just started GABA yesterday and I’m going to order magnesium taurate and l tryptophan. I also take a good quality multivitamin and other vitamins including coq10 .It might be helpful to search the key words of what you’re looking for on the internet, there are so many supplements out there, for me it’s trial and error. Melatonin has helped me with sleep which in turn helps me the next day.
