Anxious while taking caffeine pills

Anybody else have an issue with anxiety from intake of caffeine? I don’t usually have much anxiety but ever since I have started taking caffeine pills I get unnecessarily anxious.

I don’t want to quit taking them because they have been helpful in keeping me up during the day.

I realize some of you probably get your caffeine intake via other methods, coffee, tea, soda and whatnot but I was wondering if you have noticed anxiety from increased caffeine intake.

I went from almost zero caffeine…no coffee, tea or soda…to taking caffeine pills so this may be why.

I have ADHD and don’t respond to caffeine at all. But what if you tried something else? It would probably be a lot more expensive since caffeine pills are so cheap. But like, energy drinks use other stuff, right?

Okay, found this. Also, have you tried taking L-theanine to her with the anxiety?

Caffeine stimulates dopamine.

Yeah, I read that caffeine enhances dopamine signaling in the brain. I did, earlier in the week, have some slight paranoia too. Probably related to the caffeine consumption.

@Bowens

Be careful. Too much caffeine might have negative effects.

I have not. I didn’t seem to have a problem with anxiety prior to taking caffeine pills so I haven’t really done much research on anti anxiety supplements/drugs.

I am looking into L-theanine as we speak though. Sounds promising… Might order some.

Just ordered some from amazon. Will give it a shot. Thanks for the idea.

I cut out black teas, like orange pekoe, and I feel much more relaxed, but also more sleepy.

Yeah, it seems hard to find the exact right combination to both keep you awake and alert and not make you anxious.

Sometimes I feel more alert after doing the 4-7-8 breath for 2-5 minutes (the instructions are on the internet).
