Anyone done a liquid diet?

i wanna do a diet of only boost drinks. ive gained about 7 pounds on abilify and wanna lose weight. and i also have no kitchen so making food is a pain. and once i start eating i dont wanna stop. i live on mostly fast food and packaged food. so idk if boost would be better or not. im most worried about what happens to the intestines…you know like do u still go to the bathroom.

anyone been on a liquid diet? what was it like?

I lived on Huel and fruit for a couple of years.

I lost weight.

Huel has Xanthan gum in it which makes you feel full.

I currently have a huel shake for breakfast, a purition shake for lunch and a 500 calories meal for dinner plus fruit.

I love the shakes and it worked for me, but we are all different. If you can’t resist pizza it is not going to go away by drinking shakes.

I did a clear liquid diet for 10 days once, but it wasn’t to lose weight. It was to help my pancreas to recover from pancreatitis…but I did lose about 7 lbs on it. Still, jello and broth sucks a$$.

No I don’t think it’s gonna help. Tons of sugar your blood sugar is just gonna go up and down all day. Mood swings with it. The only real solution is to eat healthy food. Doesn’t have to be a complex diet. Even just bread and vegetables is good. But drinking boosts…can’t see that working. I’ve tried doing that before.

the way i see it working is i would limit the calories of the drinks to somewhere between 1000-1100. I think i can do it. I have fasted before for 3 days with nothing more than once. My problem is once I eat, i go crazy lately and keep eating and over eat. im fine until i eat.

thats just about my plan. 8 oz juice, 2 supplement drinks, and one regular coke a day.

i have not eaten food before. i had gastroparesis as a kid and had a feeding tube for months. i just cant remember what it was like on my body.

TMI question…do u still go to the bathroom?

You could eat once a day. It’s what I do, and I can get decently satiated in one sitting

i used to do that. and i did it well. but lately i still eat too much. im only 5’4" and im not really over weight, heading there tho at this rate. so my calorie intake for weight loss has to be around 1200. i can easily eat that all at once and more. last night i ate cake with ice cream and a subway sandwich. and it was probably at least 1400 calories of cake and ice cream. i was so full but i couldnt stop. i think the abilify is increasing my appetite.

1200 is too low. It’s a very drastic deficit.

my daily calorie burn is only about 1650. over that i gain weight. its cause my size and my inactivity.

Why are you trying to lose weight… if I can ask? You can be skinny and unhealthy aswell.

Experts say you need moderate activity at least 150 min/week AND strength training at least 2/week

because i wanna be thinner. i wanna lose about 15 to 20 pounds. i can def be unhealthy and skinny. i used to be. i have lived on junk food most my life. even as a kid i would eat 1000 cals a day of junk food and waas about 100 pounds. but all im eating now is junk food too so i figure what is the difference except my weight. i have no kitchen and no motivation so eating healthy prob isnt gonna happen. Boost shakes might actually be healthier than what im doing now.

I think that the shake idea is only viable short-term. You’ll get sick of it.

i wanna get sick of it…i wanna make food a not pleasurable experience to break my dopamine seeking habit with food

I’m on a liquid diet but I make high protein meals, throw in low sodium broth in the blender and drink that. The premade protein drinks contain too much sugar and calories.

I use Optimun Nutrition. It’s a pretty clean protein powder.
