i started to take Metformin 1000mg extended release for weight loss as i gained alot of weight.i notice decline in cognition is this something common?also did it help you lose weight?
I take 500mg x 3 times a day. So 1500mg in total. It’s not extended release.
I noticed a slight decrease in appetite.
Other than that, I noticed nothing!
I take 1,000mg of Metformin every day. I don’t notice anything from it.
Hey @Jamie1 good to see you back again!
Thanks @Ninjastar
I didn’t lose cognition on Metformin, but I didn’t lose weight on it, either. It was the weird taste it left in my mouth that was the deal-breaker.
Metformin just gives me loose poops. That is all
Thanks for reminding me of that.
It makes me very sick to my stomach, even at the smallest dose. I took it for a year and never got used to it. Luckily, I no longer need it
Had some bloodwork done recently and I am not diabetic
But I could have pre diabetes instead
My family doctor said that I don’t need to be on Metformin.
I guess the Mounjaro is enough
I’m on 2000mg of metformin and 2.5mg Mounjaro. I agree with the others that said it causes loose poops. But i haven’t noticed a change in cognition or weight with metformin. The Mounjaro helps me maintain my weight loss. The metformin helps my blood sugars.
A lot of the times according to my dr loose stool on metformin is a sign you’re incorporating to much sugar into your diet
That’s what my doctor says, too…he says the metformin is to “keep my diet honest”!
Yeah, I got that weird taste after I started taking it. It went away though after a couple of months.
Many people think metformin is a wonder drug because it helps increase insulin sensitivity, and is also an anti-inflammatory drug. I take it too, I feel better on it. What’s mojourno? I take ozempic.
I believe it’s in the same category as ozempic and wegovy but it’s even more effective for losing weight.
Oh I even more? Interesting. Thank you @77nick77
it has been a week since i started it.idont lose weigh or gained weight either.i think it will make me maintain my current weight.i will keep taking it and watch my weight.
I take 1000mg twice a day. If I’m careful I can take Metformin on an empty stomach and it makes me nauseous so I don’t want to eat. But sometimes it’ll make me throw up bile.
I drink a little time it has results but I stoped because I vomit too much.
