Yet another sleepless night

I have a separate diagnosis of insomnia along with my diagnosis of sza. And it really sucks. And nothing seems to work on it either. I’ve tried all the following, at one point or another:

Wine
Chamomile tea
Benadryl
Vistaril
Unisom
Valerian root
CBD
Restoril
Klonipin
Ambien
Warm milk
Turkey
Trazodone
Seroquel
Geodon
Warm baths
Reading
Soft music
Meditation
Darkness
No electronics before bed
Yoga and exercise
Sex
No more food after 5 pm dinner

I don’t know what else to do.

The only thing that seems to work is for me is to stay up for 36 hours, and then sleep in for 12 hours, then stay up for another 36 hours, sleep in for 12 hours, repeat.

I take 2.5 mg zyprexa to keep my sleep schedule on track. It got me 5 hrs last night. I’m like a kid, I can always sleep in the daytime because it’s fun.

I’m on three AP’s and Klonipin. They are all supposed to work for insomnia. They don’t work that well.

I can relate @SkinnyMe. I have a tendency to stay up till the early morning. It’s 3:12 am here.

I’m similar. I squats joked about sleeping better on an every other day schedule. As it is now I sleep an average of 1.5-3 hours a night. It’s 6am and I’m still not tired yet, so no sleep tonight.

I’ve also tried pretty much everything and nothing works more than once or twice, if at all.

I usually advice to start with melatonin and magnesium before bed. Those are the first things I would try.

I take clozapine to help me sleep. Works greatly.

My sleep patterns are all over the place. I use the time to write, so it is not miserable for me now. Maybe you could use the time to practice playing music, or maybe you could do some composing. That’s what a person should do if they have relentless insomnia.

Same here. It is a dx that is gaining ground in treatment of the mentally ill.

I’m so sorry @LED . I know how rough that is.

I try to look at it from a little bit of a positive perspective. We are up more hours so, we get to do more things, which means we get to live more life than anyone else.

I try to be productive on nights that I can’t sleep. But I only do things I enjoy. You might not want to do the same because it may encourage sleeplessness.

That’s pretty much what I do. I’ve been crocheting a lot lately. Even got my first sales and a few commissions! I’ve gotten so used to not sleeping (they started me on sleeping pills when I was only 5 years old because my entire life I’ve had insomnia) that I actually don’t really like sleeping at night. It gets boring sometimes, but on the odd night I actually sleep I end up feeling like I’ve missed out on half the day. Haha
