Would a consultant psychiatrist know what gaslighting means?

I mean its a pretty common thing and certainly a psychiatrist in his 30s should know what gaslighting is? My pdoc says he’s never heard of the word and asked his trainee doctor if he’s heard of it and he said it’s a twitter word, gaslighting has been in vocabulary since for decades so he continues to gaslight me by saying he doesn’t know what gaslighting means. I have caught him out.

It’s only been in use amongst the conspiracy crowd. Not professionals.

Saying someone is gaslighting you is like saying a famous celebrity that has been pronounced dead, is still alive.

You have no proof.

My proof is him saying he doesn’t know what it means? I have caught him out and I am the only one what can see it, either people don’t have the ability to see through him or they are conspiring against me too?

Thanks for being on Facebook and getting the truth.

Is this a psychiatrist or a psychologist? Big difference, and I mean it.

Your Psychiatrist is in charge of drugs and their interactions, not sure if they would know gaslighting as a term, they are specialists after all within the field of neurological health.

They might not, because a lot of ignorant people do it, and think no one knows what they’re doing.

Trust me your average pdoc would have zero clue about the term gaslighting. Being a pdoc is tough on the nerves and when they sign off for the day they actively avoid MH websites and conspiracy sites moreso

Well it seems they certainly know of the technique .
