I didn’t find love from others until I was content with myself.
When I was at my worst… there might have been others trying to show me the love. But I wasn’t ready for it. I didn’t trust it.
I had to be ready for it… open the door for it to come in.
I really agree with having to be in the right place in order to appreciate it and give back. Don’t know how to get there though!

That’s the tricky part… everyone has to carve their own path to that point.
For me… I needed to clean myself up and stay sober…
stay med compliant… get in a healthier mind set with therapy…
Then I was able to see outside my four walls and make room for others to come in.
I had to learn to love me first. And by “love,” I mean “being with what IS in relationship,” not hoping that someone else will “rescue” me. (Because that always comes at a price.)
