I think it’s both bad luck, genetics, and early stress in childhood.

I think it’s a virus that attacks the brain, I think everything is a virus mixed with other things like genetics, hormones and other environmental factors. But I’m probably an idiot so don’t listen to me.

You might be onto something. Scientist do say we have parts of our DNA from viruses.

I don’t know if I’m paranoid or what but have you ever noticed people will get weird symptoms in clusters. For example you’ll hear people complaining of random tooth pain that last for 3 days with no known cause that just goes away and they have no other symptoms except they were all tired and felt like maybe they were gonna come down with something but never did. And you’ll talk to like 5 people that felt that way. I think they all had some mini virus. Or you’ll hear from 5 different people that out of the blue their knees hurt for a week., I always think that a little virus is going around because how would 5 otherwise healthy people out of the blue hurt their knees and not notice it. It happens all the time and I don’t think it could be a coincidence. But I could be delusional about it.
It sounds like coincidence to me, but I’m just one person anyways.

For me it was first and foremost genetics, then a traumatic childhood and to top it all off a very bad experience with a hallucinogen.

Everything was great up until 7 or so for me. My dad has some serious issues. Not sure what, really.
My mom ate el polo loco a lot while she was pregnant with me hahaha. Maybe that’s why I have schizophrenia…?
Honestly, I think it is genetics and drugs that were the trigger because i believe i got schizophrenia in high school in a past life from marijuana.
Furthermore, what about those people who were experimented on and given lsd? A lot of those people ended up with schizophrenia.
I think I have been genetically predisposed to getting sza my whole life. My mom said I was a happy child, but then I changed. This was when I was 2 or 3. There was abuse at home. That probably contributed.
Pretty sure it’s genetics + environmental triggers (stress). My mom was pretty obviously on the spectrum regarding delusional beliefs, so I’m sure I am in part like this due to her plus combined stressors over my life.
