I am from the SouthEast US and we have a pronounced accent. So, it’s something that I already deal with. I enjoy making people uncomfortable who have assumed I’m stupid.

People know I’m not stupid because of what I’ve accomplished before I got this illness but then again they probably think I’m stupid with some of the life choices I’ve made in the past

Stupid is a spectrum, i’m sure it dips and troughs throughout our life, not one persons intelligence is the same as the next, its the same with everything else, we are all completely unique in every way, i like looking for commonalities but they are hard to find in this day and age

I think it comes across obvious to anybody neurotypical that an sz afffected person is slightly different. It’s just the nature of the illness. Reduced social reading abilities and behavioural strength in terms of control.

I was disappointed in my pdoc in the hospital who said he didn’t understand what my problem was because I’m intelligent. He didn’t understand that my mind does not work right even though I can talk philosophy and psychology. I cannot hold a job but I can tell you the definition of Reason, even at my most psychotic state. And I have times I forget the legal definition of sanity, which is to know right from wrong. Lately I can get into a psychotic state of extreme guilt. I could go on and on and on about this subject, I’m just frustrated because I can’t get help because I can speak well. Some people who are out of their minds can read well too.
My Alter ego, my dominant voice, thinks I don’t exist! It’s frustrating. We are still the same consciousness, but I changed so much!

When people find out I have psychosis disorder they treat me fine. Unless it’s someone trying to take advantage of my vulnerability.

My mannerisms make new people in my life think I’m stupid, apparently, and that perception only wears off after I’ve gotten multiple chances to converse with them.
I’ll admit to a liking for being underestimated though.
