My first full day. It was kinda stressful. I never want to see another Toyota camry in my life! I inspected about 200 of them today lol

Every job I’ve ever had I’ve been accused of stressing out too easily. Even today my supervisor told me to calm down and that I was too stressed out.

That’s exactly what my supervisor said to me at my last job a week ago right before I quit.

I stress out very easily and start making a scene. I don’t mean too, I just naturally freak out when things get hard to understand or feel scary to me.

My step father once told me it’s better to get your toes crushed then chopped off from the steel inside the boots. Was he wrong?

You could really benefit from yoga or meditation techniques. One easy one I did when I was first learning how to manage stress is, when you start to freak out, pick an object in the room. Try to levitate it with your mind for about 30 seconds. You will have to focus only on the object, and you can’t get frustrated with yourself because you already know the object won’t actually levitate. It resets your brain back into thinking mode and out of panic mode.

Another trick, I don’t know if you can do it at the factory, but carry an instant ice pack with you. When you panic, your brain literally overheats. Like, the temperature of your head will go up. If you place an ice pack on the back of your head, you will cool down your emotional center, and literally chill out.

Another one is to breathe in through your nose for a few seconds, then breathe out through your mouth for double the time. So like two seconds in, four seconds out. And do it over and over until you feel better. It honestly doesn’t matter how you breathe, the point is to give yourself something simple to focus on to take your mind off the stresses.

These work for me because I’m not good at abstract concepts with meditation. I need clear steps.

Cool - you’re working in a Toyota Camry production facility - I think thats really cool. I love Toyotas! I think they are the best cars in the world! I’d love to work in a Toyota facility for a while - I think it would be really interesting. I think its amazing how companies can design and build something as complex as a car - and have it be so reliable.

Thanks. One day I might buy one of your cars

I have a bad attitude. I don’t like it when I’m at work and don’t like it when I’m not working.
