Which medications don’t cause weight gain besides Geodon?

I have some bad side effects from Geodon. It has not caused weight gain, so I haven’t wanted to switch. All of the other medications I’ve heard of seem to cause weight gain. Do you have any suggestions of those that don’t cause weight gain?

latuda, abilify, haldol and some of the other first gen ap’s, i read saphris also but not too sure

Caplyta is not an ap, right? It advertises here for bipolar.

It is an antipsychotic. I’ve seen a commercial here (US) advertising it for schizophrenia.

It’s for both. There are several medications like that.

its an ap, actually i think its the first ap that in tv commercials it shows its for sz, rather than bipolar depression like every other new ap

That’s right Caplyta isn’t supposed to cause weight gain. I think I would try Caplyta after reading about all of these. The last time I tried to take Caplyta my pharmacy texted me to choose a different med - that my insurance wouldn’t cover it. So I stayed on Geodon.

My pdoc told me about a pharmacy she can send an electronic script to where they call your insurance company directly to ask about coverage. I could swear over a year ago I called my insurance company and the agent I talked to said they would cover Caplyta.

Since 2011 and later all those meds have a weight friendly profile.

I gained about twenty pounds on Haldol. Geodon was weight neutral for me. Geodon is by far the best med. I have ever taken, and I have taken a lot of different med’s. Haldol was pure hell. I’ve met several guys who said the same thing. I’ve never met anyone in person who didn’t like Geodon.

Caplyta has some side effects I don’t like from what I read on reviews, so I might just stay on Geodon. My Geodon dose was just lowered from 120mg a day to 100mg a day to combat side effects. I actually slept in Sunday. Not sleeping in was one of the side effects I was trying to alleviate.

I tried Latuda, Abilify, Zyprexa and Risperidone. My weight was lowest on Abilify, 200lb. Now I am 310lb on Risperidone.

Crimby if I stopped using my first Gen. Med I would get so mentally disturbed that they would have to lock me up in prison or high security institution. My first Gen meds Clopixol has made it possible to live independently for 22 years and in that period I’ve gotten admitted to the mental ward 3 times only.
