If people with only Schizoaffective Disorder can answer, it would be better.
I am interested in Latuda. If you are Schizoaffective and have tried this medication, how would you rate it?

I am sza, bipolar type.
I have tried the following meds:
Haldol terrible akathisia. Had to discontinue med.
Perphenazine terrible akathisia and totally ineffective for psychosis. Had to discontinue med.
Risperdal terrible akathisia, intractable constipation, and ineffective for psychosis. Had to discontinue med.
Geodon extreme sleepiness and coarse tremors. Ineffective alone for psychosis.
Risperdal Consta injections total lack of libido and rendered me non orgasmic. Also made me unable to play my musical instrument. Ineffective alone for psychosis.
Seroquel constipation, mild akathisia, and sleepiness. The addition of this med to Geodon and Risperdal Consta did the trick as far as eliminating all of my positive symptoms.
Hi @SkinnyMe. Did you find the pills working for voices at all, or so you think the shot is stronger? What mg in pills were you on? And what strength is your shot?
@anon47167357, the Risperdal pills were not at all effective on my thought insertion symptoms or paranoia. They seemed to work fairly well on my voices though. I forgot what mg of pills I was on. I not only think, but I know that the Risperdal shots are much stronger. I am on Risperdal Consta 37.5 mg injections every two weeks now.
I tried haldol, zyprexa and abilify. I liked haldol best, in low doses.
I tried the following AP’s:
Seroquel
Olanzapine
Clozapine
Risperidone
Haloperidol
Sulpiride
Amisulpride
Out of these risperidone and amisulpride worked the best. And olanzapine in a low dose combined with amisulpride - which is what I’m on now (plus lamotrigine) with good results.

I have sza bipolar type.
I’ve tried pretty much every med out there. The worst was lithium.
Currently I’m taking:
Clozapine 500mg
Zoloft 100mg
Lamotrigine 250mg
This seems like the best cocktail so far.
