So I’m on a high dose of risperdal 50mg consta every 2 weeks and 4mg oral daily, I have been on this for years but i still have residual symptoms I was thinking about asking my doctor to go on clozapine but im kinda weary of that drug. So im wondering has polytherapy worked for you when a single drug didnt?
I take Geodon and Latuda. They compliment one another well.
What did you notice change when you started the second one? Where you stable on one?
Geodon has a short half life and I would still get symptoms sometimes. So Latuda fills in the gaps but it also helps with mood. I take a low dose of Latuda but I am maxed out on Geodon.
Ok cool thanks
Invega trinza works wonders for me, but it raised my prolactin too high. Now I take 1 mg abilify daily and it cut my prolactin levels in half. This is the combo that works for me.
Did you add the abilify for prolactin or where you still having symptoms?
I’m on the high-dose Abilify Maintena injection, 400 mg every three weeks. I also take low-dose Haldol tablets, 2 mg two times a day. The Haldol really just decreased my paranoia, though there is still some present, always.
Do you notice any movement disorder with that drug combo? Iv read Haldol can be quite bad at that

Early on in taking Haldol I would get twitches in one of my eyelids, but that problem went away on its own. That was the only problem I ever had with it.
Nice one. Im hoping my pdoc will let me try 2 meds its not common practice in my country
Added it to lower prolactin. It helped to greatly reduce the avolition I was experiencing as well, which was probably caused by high prolactin.
Oh i didnt know avolition can be caaused by high prolactin, maybe i should try add abilify as a second med. I must have high prolactin as my male breasts increased in size from risperdal.
Yeah its important to get a blood test once in a while to see if your prolactin is high on these meds and to make sure everything is ok…I know the two drugs are related so you can probably benefit from 1 mg or 2 of abilify daily if your prolactin levels are high.
