What to do about constipation?

I have not gone poo for 3 to 4 days. I am suffering from severe constipation. Is there anything I can take to make me go?

I have tried milk of magnesia.

Most pure Epsom salt can also be taken as a laxative.

That’s a potentially serious side effect of Clozapine and it needs to be reported to your psychiatrist. The sooner the better.

There was a type of laxative chocolate.
Also increasing your fibre intake reduces constipation.

psylium husk.
just dont take it around same time as your meds or youll poop them out

I think the least toxic way to go is with bulk fiber laxitive, but don’t overdo it. Once when I needed to go I took bulk fiber laxitive, and it worked fine, for awhile. Then it didn’t work as well, so I really upped the dose. Then I started taking way more than the recommended dose. It took a long time for me to get that stuff out of my system - like about a year. You might try eating a bunch of raisins, or eating prunes or drinking prune juice.

A few tablespoons of apple cider vinegar mixed with water. Taken daily it made me extremely regular. Not only did I not have constipation I didn’t have any diarrhea. The perfect poop each time

eat epsom salt ? i did not know that was a thing…

A bottle of magnesium citrate works almost every time for me. It’s about $3.50 at Walgreens or Rite-Aid or some grocery stores.

But if I’m constipated as you are, a suppository has never failed.
I was constipated most of the time for more than a year until I introduced some more fiber into my diet.

Yes, you mix it in water and drink it.

That’s good to know.

My problem with constipation is mostly anxiety. Like, if I miss one day, I feel it’s not good. I take a stool softener for two days and that has always taken care of the problem.
