I’ve narrowed my effective supplements to:

Daily Essential Nutrients by Hardy Nutritionals (they’re an organic, plant-based multivitamin that has totally turned my fortune around, only problem is price and you have to take like 12-18 capsules a day. I credit my current very comfortable, low-head pressure condition to taking this for 3 months.)

Citric Acid + Baking Soda (this is a cheap alkalizing, anti-inflammatory combo, it’s doing wonders for my arthritis, because low levels of citric acid in the joints are associated with rheumatoid arthritis, since that is what primarily dissolves the uric acid crystals in those joints. There are studies about this)

Amyloban 3399 (I’m trying to back away from this due to cost and due to being a fungus, but it really does reduce SZ symptoms. There’s a forum thread about this even, it has helped a half dozen people with their SZ here. I’ve even managed to get a guy on reddit taking it and he’s all happy now, saying he’s had moments when he could completely forget he has the illness)

I want to also take the “Budwig Mixture” which is a blended flax oil + cottage cheese food that supposedly has anti-cancerous properties due to the combination of sulfurous proteins with the omega 3 oils, which makes them water soluble for a short while, meaning the body uses them much more effectively than otherwise. But making it is kind of annoying, and I’m pretty lazy.

Vitamin D should not taken as a daily supplement if the level is already optimal as too much vitamin d is toxic and its a fat soluble vitamin so body can’t expel excess like water soluble vitamins.

I think the best supplement all should take daily especially if have mental, cognitive issues is Omega 3 from Fish containing plenty of DHA and EPA.

Not all omega 3s are same, different brands and different types gives varied results. In my opinion the best omega 3 brand to choose is Nordic Naturals though expensive it gives highest DHA and EPA in a single soft gel. Their ultimate omega 3 series gives around 650 DHA and 450 EPA in a single soft gel and its the best.

Omega 3 is best absorbed if take with fatty foods, milk is ideal one to choose.

I was recommended to take 60,000 IU d3 once a month by my pdoc but instead I take 2,000 IU daily. My pdoc is okay with that. 2000 x 30 days = 60k

I’ve tried fish oil pills and I can’t stand the fishy aftertaste :face_vomiting:. The fishy aftertaste makes me vomit every time. I’ve even tried krill oil but every order I’ve ever received of krill oil has been rancid. I don’t live in a warm environment either. I finally came across an alternative; Cold pressed organic flax seed oil pills. No fishy aftertaste and I feel like my stomach better tolerates it :slightly_smiling_face:. I get mine from nature wise on amazon. 1 soft gel contains 720mg omega 3 (Alpha-Linolenic Acid), 120mg omega 6 (Linoleic Acid), and 140mg omega 9 (Oleic Acid) :+1:. I feel like it helps me with my cognitive function and remembering things better. I take it with food for the best absorption and bio availability. I can’t tell you how many years I wasted on trying different fish oil supplement brands. I gave Nordic naturals a try I think at one point too.

I used to take sarcosine but didn’t notice a difference, I took l-theanine for a while too but didn’t notice much of a difference either.

Now I take DMG but don’t notice a difference but I have 3 bottles so I will keep taking it. I take a multi-vitamin too.

I am going to be getting kava today in the mail, I ordered some online, hoping to have good results from it.

Stop taking Kava its linked to liver damage. Benzos and sedating drugs like Kava, Valerian etc only worsens negative symptoms.

DMG really works. Observe your behavior during the day when taking DMG. Some of the results include.

Less drowsiness, less day time fatigue.
More energy, doing workouts is easy.
Less muscle soreness after workout and better muscle development.
Improved mood, easy to ignore distractions, better stress management.
OCD, anxiety, depression like thoughts and behaviors reduced.

I tried sarcosine from brainvitaminz and didn’t notice a difference either. Same with L-Theanine.

I take no supplements. Keep meaning to start a multi vitamin.

I just got my shipment of Sarcosine and NAC from pro-frontal today. Gonna give the sarcosine another go. Never tried NAC before. I read online somewhere that brainvitaminz might be a scam. I also read that their address is a ups address which you would think its somebody running it from out of their basement. I can tell pro-frontal is legit if there was one though because they have an address that checks out and they give you confirmation emails, tracking, etc.

DMG is the most useful supplement for improving mood, energy, anxiety etc.

Omega 3 is the most useful supplement for improving cognition.

These two supplements definitely try, these are all rounder supplements with many uses.

I don’t take supplements except vitamin b and c and probiotics after i got skin rashes from taking some supplement(sam-e). Please be careful when you try a new medicine…
